Fair Trade Friday is an organization that helps to empower women and battle poverty through dignified, sustainable industry (craftsmanship). They have three subscriptions to choose from that send fairly traded items from around the world: The Original Box, Bracelet of the Month, and Earrings of the Month. I have subscribed to the Earring of the Month box for years now, and I am really excited to have this opportunity to review the Original Box!

Fair Trade Friday Original Box February 2018 Review

This pamphlet was included. It has information on all the contents of this month's package, plus information on the artisans who created them. It's really informative!

These little cards were also included, giving some info on Fair Trade Friday and their parent organization, Mercy House Global.

Milk Bath by Sparrow House Botanicals

Milk Bath by Sparrow House Botanicals - Retail Value $15

Sparrow House Botanicals is an organization that makes wonderful bath and body products, and the makers are survivors of human trafficking in Houston, TX. It's odd to think of fair trade products coming from right here in the United States, but I think it's an important reminder that sometimes our neighbors in need are closer than we might like to think. This milk bath smells amazing! I can really smell the lavender, and I love the list of ingredients. It's very wholesome! I took a long soak in this, and it really made my skin amazingly soft. I don't know if I have ever had a milk bath before, but this will definitely not be my last!

Heart Magnets by Street Hope

Heart Magnets by Street Hope - Listed Value $12

I love these little felt fridge magnets, and they are perfect for Valentine's season! Plus purple is my favorite color! They were made by women survivors (of the streets) in Kenya exclusively for Fair Trade Friday. I put them on our fridge as a constant reminder to be grateful for the many gifts we have been given in this life.

Gratitude Print by Fair Trade Friday

Gratitude Print by Fair Trade Friday - Listed Value $5

This is a special print made for this box with a note from the Fair Trade Friday founder on the reverse. It definitely echoes the themes on love and gratitude in this box, and the story on the back about the Street Hope magnets seriously brought a tear to my eye. It's really touching.

Choker by Purpose Jewelry

Choker by Purpose Jewelry - Value $26

It's been a long time since I wore a choker, but I really like this one and will have to find just the right top to set it off! It's black beads and a brass bar on a brass chain. The measurements given are 6.6" drop, 3" extender, and a 1" bar pendant. It's so pretty and unusual! This was handmade in India by a young woman who is also a survivor of human trafficking, as were all pieces from Purpose Jewelry. It makes me so sad to think of human trafficking, but the idea that there are so many survivors gives me some degree of hope. I am happy that Fair Trade Friday is helping and happy to be a part of that solution.

The Verdict: I am loving my subscription to Fair Trade Friday Original Box! I absolutely loved my first experience with a milk bath, and I am so pleased to have found a choker that I think I will actually wear! I really like all the information they provide to show how your subscription directly impacts the lives of others. It makes the subscription seem that much more special.

This is a great box this month. And human trafficking is a very serious issue in our country and many others. I love that this box supports that particular cause.
