Japan Crate Premium Box February 2018 Review
This month's box came with a booklet that highlights all of the snacks inside this month's box. It goes into some detail about what each snack will taste like as well.
Let's see what snacks February has to offer!
Constellation Chocolate Cookie
This little cookie is covered in a thick layer of chocolate. The cookie is super thick almost like a biscuit and has a lovely vanilla flavor. The chocolate adds this rich creaminess to it that was super sweet. Each cookie will come with a different constellation on it. I got Virgo, which is SO fitting because I am a Virgo, born in September! I wasn't able to find these cookies online, but I love how they come in a single package.
Dragon Ball Super Gum
These Dragon Ball candy pieces can be really hard to find online, they must be very exclusive! This awesome packet has a Dragon Ball picture on the front, I bet you could keep this to collect. Inside is a yummy piece of bubble gum. Nothing too fancy here, just a really fruity and sweet piece of gum to enjoy.
Hello Kitty Ichigo De Chu
This little Hello Kitty packet is so cute! I could see this being a fun little gift to give to a friend. Each packet is filled with a strawberry and chocolate flavored candy. They are super sweet and have a strong strawberry flavor. These candies are extremely sweet so I was only able to eat a few at a time.
Kampai Ramune
I wasn't able to find this cute little treat online which I am so sad about because I think this would make such a sweet gift for St. Patrick's Day. The little beer mug is filled with little ramune candies. Ramune is a soft drink served in Japan that is similar to soda. These little candies are super soft like a Sweet Tart and have a lovely cola flavor to it. Nothing too sweet or tart, just really yummy!
Let's Make Pokemon Soft Candy DIY Kit - Retail Value $3.78
I have received many DIY kits in various snack boxes, and I have to say that this was my favorite to make! The kit comes with two soft candy flavors, strawberry or lemon. It also comes with sticks to make them into lollipops and character cutouts from Pokemon. All you have to do is use the soft candy to form a mold and you can place the stick behind the character for easy holding while you eat. The candy itself tasted a lot like a fruity gum, so sweet and delicious! This was a super fun activity to do with my son who thought the characters were so fun.
Calbee Chocolate Potato Chips
I have received these chips in other snack boxes and they are always a welcome treat! The chips are pretty basic, just amazing wrinkle chips that have that nice layer of salt. The bonus part is that they are drizzled in chocolate! I love the combination of sweet and salty in these chips. My husband is obsessed with these chips so he was beyond excited to see that we got another bag.
Mini Angel Pie Strawberry Daifuku - Retail Value $1.84
These mini pies are so good! I am a sucker for treats like this so I was really excited to see that so many came in one box. These pies have a marshmallow filling along with a strawberry cream layer. On the outside is a light layer of chocolate, combining this lovely pie together. These little treats are so small and so yummy, you can just pop one in your mouth for a yummy sweet treat. I will say that the strawberry flavor has a more artificial taste to it but, combined with the marshmallow, I thought it all worked.
Mix Trio Soft Candy
These soft candies come in grape, ramune, and cola! The candies are super soft with an almost bubble gum-like texture to them. They each are sweet with big hints of sour flavors as well. I love little gummies like this so I was happy to pop a few in my mouth for a lovely sour flavor!
Oni Mo Arukeba Kanabo Chocolate
This treat was so unique! It is basically a cookie in stick form. The kicker is that they are covered in nuts and chocolate! This reminded me of a candy bar in certain ways. I loved the big crunch from the cookie stick and then the extra layer of crunchiness that the nuts provided. The chocolate layer really brought everything together providing this yummy sweetness. What a lovely treat to try!
Pokemon Honey Apple
Wow, this drink was so sweet! It has that syrup like texture and flavor to it, which could be from the honey. The apple flavor had a tart sweetness to it similar to apple juice. Since this drink was so sweet I was only able to take a few sips, but I did love the fun packaging!
Tohato Strawberry Milk Caramel Corn - Retail Value $2.75 (currently out of stock)
These caramel corn snacks are my son's favorites! I haven't received the strawberry flavor before, but it was such a yummy treat. The strawberry flavor was extra sweet. The corn snack itself is so crunchy and the caramel gives the whole treat a unique creamy texture.
Ume Marshmallow
I have had this marshmallow snack before and I always love it! Inside of this fluffy marshmallow was a yummy strawberry filling that was very thin, giving it this subtle sweetness. The marshmallow was super fluffy and oh so sweet!
Uncle Daniel's Chocolate
This bite-size cookie was so delicious! It almost looked like a waffle that is covered in chocolate. The center is another coating of chocolate, but the flavors tasted just like strawberries. The cookie was super sweet with this lovely chocolate sweetness. I gobbled this one down in one bite!
Chocolate Umaibo - Buy a pack of 30 for $14.99
Chocolate umaibo is my favorite! The rich corn stick is so crunchy and has a light sweetness to it. The thick layer of chocolate adds to the sweetness and makes this little rice snack so delicious.
Bonus Item: Dragon Ball Super Card Gum
This little bonus pack comes with a ramune flavored piece of gum and a random card that features popular Dragon Ball characters. I am not super familiar with Dragon Ball, does anyone know who I received?
Verdict: February's Japan Crate was so much fun! There were so many pink and strawberry flavored items for Valentine's Day, a perfect theme for February. I loved that there was so many Dragon Ball themed snacks as well. I had a really hard time finding many of these snacks online for purchase, which tells me that they are a bit more exclusive. That is what is so great about Japan Crate, the unique curation is always bringing bold treats month after month.
