Laserbrain Patch Co February 2018 Review
Each month you'll see a small coloring page in your bubble mailer that fits the theme.
On the reverse side, you'll get to read all about what's included and how it pertains to the theme. This month is "Creep It Real" and is full of spooky stuff!
"Don't Touch Me" Snake Patch
Hehe, I love this orange and red slithering snake who wants to be left alone. I've never seen a long skinny patch like this but feel like it's perfect to fit in a narrow part of a jean jacket to alert the outside world how you feel. It's about 5.5 inches long and only a half inch wide, so by the time someone gets close enough to read it, you can smack them away.
Beetlejuice Inspired Sticker Set
Both stickers are a nice heavy matte finish plastic and feature some famous quotes from the cult classic 1988 movie, Beetlejuice.
Tina Belcher/Lydia "I, Myself, Am Strange and Unusual" Sticker
I'm a huge fan of Beetlejuice and know I am not alone when I say that Lydia Deetz was basically the coolest female character I knew of at the time. What a wonderful role model to aspire to be! 😉 This sticker incorporates a famous line delivered by Winona Ryder (Lydia) with the cult character Tina Belcher from Bob's Burgers dressed as her.
"No Feet" Ghost Polaroid Sticker
The next sticker is another classic scene where Lydia first encounters Adam and Barbara Maitland trying to "scare" the Deetzes from their beloved home by donning sheets and going for the classic ghost look. It's only after Lydia takes a polaroid that she realizes it's not her parents acting weird, but actual ghosts since they have "no feet."
Spider Enamel Pin
It doesn't get much creepier than spiders in my book, so this enamel pin of a black creepy crawler fits the theme nicely. It's about an inch long and is black enamel against a silver metal outline and backing. On the info card, they sight this fear as "Arachnophobia", which many of us recall as being the fear of spiders. It also brings me back to another movie from my childhood of the same name which I sat through as a 10-year-old even though I was terrified simply because I had a huge crush on the actor Julian Sands. Spoiler: his death was very unnerving.
"Creep It Real" Bat Beanie
The final item is the largest of the month and a new one for Laserbrain. This black beanie is rather cozy and has a pretty scary bat embroidered on the front in grey with neon green lettering spelling out "Creep It Real" within its wings. *shudder* I probably won't rock this hat since it's a little too spooky for me, but I bet I can find someone who will love it.
Bonus: A creepy lil plastic spider. Can't wait to hide this in my roommate's bed!
Verdict: All of the items from this month's Laserbrain Patch Co. delivery were designed by founder Stina Sardinha Wulfe which make them exclusive to the subscription since it's doesn't look like they are currently offered on their online shop. You can, however, still purchase this pack for $15 (plus shipping) if you missed out, and it says it's valued at $25. Since we got this in our subscription, we paid a total of $16 ($12.50 + $3.50 shipping) for the four (counting the stickers as one) items. Since the beanie was the hero item and kind of a miss for me, this month didn't quite hit the right value personally, but it still shakes out to be $4.00 per item which ain't bad.
