February 2018 'Heroic' Loot Gaming Review

The 'Heroic' box features TMNT, Zelda, Mega Man, and Space Invaders.

You'll get a large fold-out information sheet.

One side features a 28x22 poster - this month features Mega Man.

The reverse side will walk you through the items in the crate.

Pizza Pin - Value $5?

This month's featured pin is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle callout! Celebrate the turtles' favorite dish with this pin.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Shirt - Value $15?

This month's exclusive shirt highlights quite a bit from the Zelda classic: Ocarina of Time!

Turtles In Time Bento Box - Value $20?

I am loving this item!

The lid features the classic character selection screen from the arcade classic - Turtles In Time! So much nostalgia for me.

It pulls apart into 3 main compartments with a fork and spoon. Good for a small lunch.

It's marked as BPA Free as well - this was my favorite item this month.

Space Invaders Figure - Value $10-15?

This is a duplicate item from the January 2016 Loot Crate - while I don't appreciate getting a repeat item, I did appreciate that I got a different variant.

These are pretty cool with the translucent design - this now gives me two of the possible three variants.

3″ Mega Man Red Variant Figure – Value $15?

This one is marked as a bonus item on the booklet - and is also a duplicate item from the July 2016 Loot Crate.

The is the same 3-inch figure as last time - everyone gets the red variant.

Zelda Wristband - Value $5?

One more time - this is marked as a bonus item and is another duplicate item from the July 2015 Loot Crate box. This is made with the basic terrycloth fabric like any wristband.

Mega Man Lanyard - Value $10?

The final item in the box is a Mega Man lanyard.

It has the quick disconnect for quickly passing off your credentials.

Verdict: Last month's box was so good that it makes this month's box extra disappointing! There are 3 repeat items, bonus or not, and that is just not good enough to me. The shirt, pin, and bento box are cool to me because I'm a big TMNT fan - but I really don't expect to be getting items I've already received in new boxes. This has been a bit of a recurring theme over the past few months across different crates - and that is disappointing.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No - they're currently taking orders for the March 2018 box. You'll have until the 27th of each month to get that month's theme!

The shirt is cool, and I’m meh on the bento box item although it does have a cool graphic. 3 excess stock items and a lanyard just dont cut it. Really one of the worst loot gaming crates. It seems hit or miss anymore and it almost always used to be a hit.
