Check out all of my Luxor Box reviews!

This box came with a large card detailing all of the items included:

Now, on to the items!

Rena Iman Laura Clutch in Blush with Pearl Gemstone Keychain - Retail Value $125

I'm so impressed with the quality of this clutch!

The blush pink leather is gorgeous, and the pearl keychain is such a nice accent.

This is a slim clutch, so it will only fit the essentials, but it has 4 credit card slots:

And I was able to hold my phone, lip balm, and hand sanitizer in it with no problem.

Here it is in hand to give you a better sense of scale:

Can you tell I'm ready for spring?

Robyn Rhodes ZED Ring in Gold - Retail Value $79.99

This gold filled ring measures about 1 inch tall.

I love the geometric design, and I was surprised how comfortable it was to wear! Here it is on:

(It's adjustable, too.)

Rosanna Glam Office Tea Cup – Teas Me - Retail Value $24

This porcelain mug holds 10 ounces.

The inside is painted pink, and it features gold accents. (Update: FYI those gold accents mean it isn't microwave safe.)

The gold accents are lovely, but unfortunately, that means hand wash only!

I love that it comes in a beautiful box. I may end up gifting this since I rarely use handwash only items. (I'm totally lazy when it comes to dishes!)

Chando Chinese Zodiac Rooster Diffuser - Retail Value $99

(The inside of the lid includes directions for use.)

This little diffuser measures about 2.5 inches tall.

The porcelain absorbs the oil and scents the air.

The base is sticky, too, so you can use it in your car:

And it comes with an oil blend, too:

This is a lemon & green tea fragrance oil. I liked it, but I think I'll be using some of my pure essential oils instead.

Passport to Beauty Warrior Healthy Hair Tea - Retail Value $39

This tea is made with ingredients that are known to help promote healthy hair. (Confession: I did not know Catnip helped with hair growth. Or that it was for humans, too!)

The tea is made with Jasmine, Horsetail, Thyme, Nettle Leaf, Catnip Leaf, Rosemary, Marigold, Sage, and Chamomile. I liked the blend, but I think it would be easy to find similar tea blends at a lesser cost. (This tea is about $2.75 a bag.)

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $367. I think that value is great for a $139 luxe box. More importantly for me - I absolutely love the two hero items in this box! The ring and clutch are such quality items and a perfect match for my style.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, this box is sold out. If you sign up today, your first box will be the May box.

Value Breakdown: At $139 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Clutch: $47.34
  • Ring: $30.30
  • Mug: $9.09
  • Diffuser: $37.50
  • Tea: $14.77

I will not be renewing my annual subscription! This box has been a huge disappointment for me the past months!

CAD$220? For a flat clutch made of rigid leather (keys, lipstick, tissues, phone, money – I don’t think so), an ugly adjustable (!) ring that looks like it’s from Claire’s, a rooster oil diffuser, 14 cheap-looking tea bags with ridiculous claims and a tea cup with a cheesy saying. No, thank you.

Took the words right out of my head…..This is the worst box from Luxor in me eyes. It’s just not my taste is a nicer way to put it!

Beth

In my eyes..opps

Angel

This is the most overrated subscription box I have ever seen. If everyone reviewed they would probably be at a 1.8 or lower. Not just because a majority of the items (in the last year or so they have gone DOWNHILL) are RV inflated like giant hot air balloon, but customer service is terrible.

They are borderline scammers at Luxor with the whole Travel Voucher fiasco and editing their website to hide their screwups instead of just admitting fault. Never trust a company that tries to give you a “free luxury vacation” as a “bonus” just for buying their overpriced box.

This review put me to sleep thanks to the products. WHAT is “Luxe” here?

Alexandra

Omg where is your dress from Liz?!?!?!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

It’s from Forever 21 but it has sold out since I bought it. Sorry!

The clutch is gorgeous! It looks and feels wonderful. Roomy enough for my iPhone X and my Note 8. Holds my pile of plastic cards (ID, bank and Insurance) and a bunch of folded bills. Still room for pen and lip gloss!
What a world where no one uses dishes that have to be hand washed or can’t go in the microwave. This is a luxury box! Often, luxury requires special care.
The rooster will look cute on the dash bopping around town, although I’ll use a peppermint or tangerine oil.
The ring is too clunky for me but I know a granddaughter who will love it.
And, the tea? Uh, nope. That goes to the herbal girl in the family.

Lilly

Actually, at least one of us uses fine china tea cups from our 200 year old Limoges tea set.. Which can be neither microwaved, or put in the dishwasher.

I HATE huge clunky tacky mugs. I want a porcelain bone china cup which is so delicate it is translucent when held up to the light. I want to drink my tea in a lovely ritual, not a ceramic mug.

The comment someone wrote here about ” not using a clutch because of sticky fingers” made me so nauseated I almost got sick.
WHO doesn’t wash their hands and the hands of their offspring?

I don’t understand a lot of things when people tell the absolute truth about their personal habits.

Also, why would the reviewer, who has a full time maid, care if something can go in the dishwasher or be hand washed? Maid not have dishwashing gloves ?

Reply ButtonReply

Annabella

Lilly, we are all so sorry to nauseate, disgust and confuse you with our vile habits and incomprehensible life styles. We can just all be grateful you are here to set us straight and tell us how things really ought to be done.

Tamara

When she said “sticky fingers,” I assumed she meant putting the clutch down and someone stealing it.

JJ

Wow! OK then…

Redhed36

Lilly,
Not sure but sticky fingers is ususally referred to as theft, but not sure who’s commenting you were referencing. That clutch is really light colored and it’s going to be difficult keeping it clean no matter how clean of hands. Why would you assume the reviewer has a maid.

Beth

Nice plug on the Limoges and hopefully you’ve recovered from your bout of nausea….which you’ve passed on to me after reading this pompous drivel. Liz, for gawd sake get your maid some dishwashing gloves!!!

Liz Cadman

Hi Lilly,

Not sure I’m misreading the last part of your comment, or if I am the “reviewer” you are referring to, but I do not have a maid. I take care of all the dishes so that’s why I prefer everything to be dishwasher safe. To each their own! 🙂

Redhed36

I can’t speak for everyone but some people just can’t have nice things like that. LOL. You can tell the people in the house a million times “don’t stick that in the microwave” and they do it anyways. Plus in the fast paced world many live in it can be a pain to hand wash. Some people may not even keep dish soap in the house. LOL. I can understand their frustration as I can’t get the people in my house to listen to me. That would be destroyed in no time.

Reply ButtonReply

Shannon

It’s lovely but I really can’t have nice things. My husband would have that porcelain stained with PowerAde before I put it in a cabinet for the first time.

Anna

Omg my husband has ruined so many items that I’ve said aren’t dishwasher safe or microwave safe it drives me mad.

Snowhitetwin

No more clutches! So impractical along with a tea cup that needs special handling instructions. I don’t know about anybody else but I’m constantly zapping my tea in the microwave to reheat it.

Kay

I’m baffled at the “RV” of the rooster…seriously?!

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

This box is crap! I’m so happy it’s my last one. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Am I reading these RVs correctly? This box seems a little absurd, and the values are insanely over inflated. That ring looks like something from Claire’s, along with the clutch. A diffuser with a sticky bottom? Tea bags? Silly.

Sorry but I am going to step in and defend Robyn Rhodes. She is a jewelry maker from CA. She does excellent work. She is also a sweet person. You should do some research on the brands before you make uninformed pronouncements based on pictures.

Reply ButtonReply

beth

I’m not sure the opinions expressed are uninformed. I think its very kind of you to note the designer is a nice person. I’m sure she is. Her brand is not a household or universally known name in luxury goods, perhaps she is well known in CA? Doesn’t mean she hasn’t made amazing jewelry and this isn’t an attack on her personality. People are allowed to voice opinions here. The ring is not my taste, I’m sure it appeals to so many others. Retail is taste specific, as you know. Rachel Zoe turned out the duster from granny Hades, but I’m still a fan!

Sunny

Completely agree! When the spoilers were announced I was a little disappointed, but figured I’d hold out judgement until I saw the full box. Absolutely no FOMO here!

Also, I feel like this review completely ignored the repeated questions about the mug being neither food or microwave safe. It’s just a glorified pen-holder. Sometimes I feel like MSA could stand to be a little more critical in their reviews – this does not convey luxury at all and I would never pay the full price for this box.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

I heard back from Rosanna confirming that the mug is food safe.

Hope that helps!

Beth

This box definitely does NOT convey luxury, it looks like a trip to TJ Maxx. Don’t get me wrong, TJ Maxx is great…but this is touted as a “luxury” box and it most certainly is not. Hopefully those who subscribed are happy with it. I would feel pretty annoyed.

Liz Cadman

Hi Sunny,

Sorry for missing the comment on the other post about the mug possibly not being food safe. I believe it is food safe as I don’t think Bloomingdales would omit that info from their product listing, but I’ve reached out to Rosanna to verify and I’ll update the post as soon as I hear back.

And I’ll update the review to reflect that the mug is not microwave safe. My focus is always on if something is dishwasher safe, and I apologize for not thinking about that!

Redhed36

Lol I thought the hair tea was something you treated your hair with. I would have been using it all wrong.

Reply ButtonReply

Shannon

It’s not? Guess I need to read it. I thought, “Either that’s a seriously complicated hair treatment or tea made out of hair.”

Reply ButtonReply

Leah

The only thing I got excited about is Liz’s outfit…

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

As someone else (and myself) noted on the other thread – the tea mug (in the details section on the tea site states) is NOT food safe.

Reply ButtonReply

Judy

Love the outfit!! U look super fab Liz!!!

I think this is a nice box of overpriced items. Porcelain car air fresheners sound like the basis for a great SNL commercial.

The Chando rooster is $22.00 USD with the conversion rate, if I calculated it correctly.
That’s about all I think it’s worth, and yes, I’m looking at my sticky- bottomed item as I say this.

Please, no one put this on furniture, as it will ruin the finish. It was meant to be a car diffuser, if you want a ceramic type rooster in your car. That’s why it’s sticky on the bottom.. Cheap design, as the bottom should be smooth with a separate sticky disc to adhere to ?? dashboard ??? center console, IDK where if that’s what someone wanted.

I’ve never heard of any of these brands except Robyn Rhodes. I am not sure this is a full kidskin clutch as it’s supposed to be in the description either. It doesn’t have the properties I associate with kidskin leather, and seems to be bonded leather.

After doing some research on the tea ingredients, I’m not going to use it. I do not trust the ” Passport To Beauty” brand well enough to consume herbs they packaged.

This was a total miss for me because I simply do not think the quality of each product lives up to the stated RV.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Please let me know where you found this rooster for $22! I would definitely buy it at that price. I’ve tried swapping for it, but without luck. And I have searched the web and can’t seem to find one anywhere near $22.

(The conversion rate is $1 = 6.29 RMB. Thus, if it is US $22 it should be listed as ~138 RMB.)

Lauren

That rooster is perfectly cute if you like rooster items, but since it’s labeled as Chinese zodiac, it should be mentioned this is the year of the dog. Last year was the year of the rooster. It’s literally last year’s inventory.

Jenns

Kidskin leather?!? Eek!

Reply ButtonReply

Mandy G.

I meant Calfskin and came to add this.. However, calfskin is leather from a dead calf and kidskin is leather from a dead young goat. Both are top quality leather.

What do you mean ” eek?” Designer shoes are almost always calfskin.
Do you not understand the term, are you anti-leather who comes here to moan or what?
Bonded leather is the true ” eek”, not calfskin.

Dana

You look amazing! Where did you get that fabulous dress? 🤩

I noticed there were 54 subscribers of this box and gave it a rating of 2.8. When shopping on line I don’t buy anything rated less than 4 or 4.5. Why are people spending so much money on boxes they only rate at 2.8. The pocketbook is lovely but will not hold anything. The diffuser would only look right in a kitchen. I would not want a rooster in my living room even if it is $100. Now that I have vented I feel better.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

Liz, this box looks silly- but you look gorgeous! I love, love that dress! You always look so lovely and make things look awesome.

I do really love the rooster diffuser, but $100 is crazy for a piece like that.

This is an OK box for me. I was hoping the clutch would be a bit bigger, so I could fit more things in it, but quality and the color compensate for smaller size. I am a big yea person, but this type is “not my cup of tea” 🙂 chando and tea cup are kinda “meh”, ring is interesting, but I am not sure how much use I will get out of it.

99 rv for that rooster air freshener? Are u kidding? The rv is so laughable it’s like a OP box!

Reply ButtonReply

Ks

I think it’s a typo. If you go to the link and click buy, it shows the dog diffuser as 31 USD.

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

I was coming to say the same! Why is it $99?
