FabFitFun (okay variety of items, but they seem somewhat cheap to me) and Happy Rebel (their mystery box was one of my worst sub box experiences ever!).

Definitely PopSugar and FFF, although at one time I did subscribe to them both. Now I look at the ,and am glad I cancelled. BOS seems too trendy for me.

Popsugar and FFF. Despite the fact I’m on the cusp of 30, I feel their stuff is really young. Also, I have issues when acrylic scarves have crazy high RVs. Just a personal annoyance

Beauty Box 5 😂

Boxycharm and any other one that has mostly full size items. I just don’t want full size items I don’t love/enjoy using hanging around. I give away enough samples already.

The old PopSugar (I am waiting to see if they improve the quality of the products in their “new” version).
Almost all makeup subscriptions (I already have enough black eyeliner and red or brown lip products).
Sadly, Luxe Pineapple turned out to be a random bunch of stuff that I would never buy (cs is good, though).
The one Sugar Bash I received was awful (after reading boxes and boxes of fabulous reviews), so I cancelled that one.
The worst was LA Ritzy. I read all of the reviews when they were sending brand name goodies, and then they switched to their generic brand (very difficult to cancel that one).
Robb Vices started off great, but I think this will be my last year with them unless they start sending better items (like the fabulous Stellé speakers…such a fantastic product!).
I’d love a really nuanced makeup sub (Deck of Scarlet is doing a good job, bur I prefer lip colors in tubes – not in a palette).
And for all of those people who complain when others write negative comments…that is what this question is about! I am the first to congratulate companies on their fabulous products and great customer service (Julep is the first that comes to mind).
I think the market for subscription boxes is well on it’s way to being saturated, so it’s going to be more difficult for companies to produce spectacular boxes as well as make a worthwhile profit. I wish I had learned about subscriptions when they first became popular…and I also wish I had gotten MSA’s box!

As long as everyone remembers that these are individual opinions. It doesn’t make them true.
Bonnie
Wait…MSA had a box?
Marina
Yes, I remember seeing them when they were nearing the end, by the time I was going to get one they had gone downhill – the last box or two they had were sadly terrible and they ended them 🙁
*it was awhile ago so I am fuzzy on the details, but I do believe there was drama (DRAMA…sorry I just watched Tangerine for Film History class haha)

Boxycharm and Birch Box but Boxycharm is more than double the cost of B.B. so it’s more annoying. I stuck it out 6 months out of FOMO. Soon I will replace them with Art of Organics, Beauty Heroes or Pearlesque.

Popsugar is more miss than hit, sugarbash I think I’m swapping all of it. FFF is hit or miss but there is enough value between the 2-3 items I want, plus the gift-worthy items I can give away. Maybe I should go back to bespoke?

All of the Geeky boxes like Loot Crate. I have never heard of most of the characters/shows that they reference.
Bonnie
I’m only going to comment on boxes I’ve actually tried, because that’s how I know they aren’t for me. Allure, because the customer service is such a hassle. I actually have tried several times to restart my subscription but haven’t been able to. For me, it’s a hassle if I can’t fix everything online. I work two jobs where I answer phones so I don’t have much time or desire to actually call a customer service line.
Fab Fit Fun, because the previews look so great, but the stuff, especially the beauty products, are crap.
And Box of Style. I feel like overall, it’s designed for a tiny, dainty, small-boned type of person, like Rachel Zoe herself. One-size-fits-all clothing, a lot of tiny jewelry. A few times they have had bolder jewelry, but I have since discovered if I like a single item I can find it on Ebay for far less than the $99 box fee. Overall, I think it’s a lovely box. Just not a fit for me.

Golden Tote! – I’m having a big problem after trying them once when Stitch Fix started slipping. I ordered the Golden tote & they sent me the Mini. I initially contacted them to have them send the remaining 3 items I paid for. I heard back from someone saying they would do it & then crickets. Now I’ve contacted them twice for a refund on the price difference & again crickets. Very bad impression!
FFF
Boxycharm – I prefer skin/hair care beauty products
Fabletics/Adore Me – I’d rather have items curated for me
Veronica H
Clothing rentals.
Jewelry boxes. I’m have to be nickel free or my earlobe start to itch and swell. They never tell you. Any jewelry in a box is something I automatically tell myself I’ll get maybe 10 uses from and then it’ll look like junk.
FFF Spring box has them on the soon-to-be extinct list. This is their 5 year, umm that wasn’t a “let’s celebrate” box. IMO

I subscribe to 21 boxes. In the long run it’s saved me money, because since I began subscribing last spring and except for my favorite gold eyeliner from Sephora, I haven’t had to buy any cosmetics or personal care items in all that time, and my skin really does look better. All the things that aren’t my taste go into a stash in the closet and whenever I need a gift, I shop the stash. Christmas shopping this year was a breeze. The box I’m done with is Emma & Chloe. I originally got it for the gorgeous conch shell bracelet last summer. I’ve hardly liked anything since and have regifted almost every month since. But February, with that gold filigree ring that looks like it came from a gumball machine—that was the last straw. I would never regift that because it looks so cheap. I’m dropping them.

Stitch Fix. Their clothes look cheap, hideous, and extraordinarily over-priced.

1- Fab Fit Fun, Glossybox, Popsugar, Fabletics, Any box that is over 22 dollars and takes money out without getting anything for in store purchases. Are ones on my never never list.
2 – Birchbox, Allure, Boxycharm, Ipsy Are losing their appeal.
Ricky’s Cult Crushers box is ON POINT AND GETTING BETTER and the best ever. I’ve seen the box YES OH YAS beauty box. Enjoy leggings looks interesting waiting for my first pair. Earfleek has deals on Groupon for a year for 24 dollars I jumped on that deal.

FabFitFun and Birchbox

Rachel Zoe Box of Style, Boxycharm, and Happy Rebel seem to be popular but are not for me. I’ll leave out the ‘whys’ since it wasn’t part of the question. Thanks!
Artemis
Clothing boxes–it’s cheaper and easier to shop for myself.
The popular lifestyle boxes like Posugar or Fabfitfun–I really don’t get their appeal. The curation seems random to me.
I’d love a lifestyle box that doesn’t include so much beauty stuff. There are plenty of beauty boxes for that.
Alexa
FabFitFun. Most items just look cheap, and there is something about their curation and marketing which is very sorority girl drinking a pumpkin spice latte, not that there’s anything wrong with being that, it’s just not me.
Snowhitetwin
Boxycharm and ipsy. Too juvenile.
Candace
Beauty fix. The one box I did get had one full sized item and the rest were tiny samples. You usually need more than a couple uses when testing out skin care.
Ipsy, Play and Birchbox. Tiny samples of the same old recycled stuff. I’ve seen that smashbox eyeshadow for months in the spoilers. Then on top of that they load down with variations. It’s like they’re trying to see how many different combinations of bag they can get with the same 10 samples. When people do get full sized items it’s usually brushes or eyeliner.
HelloFresh or any meal delivery sub. I couldn’t believe how ridiculously expensive this is. $80 for 4 meals for 2 people. I just got one and I cancelled. The food didn’t wow me and I can get organic meat/produce locally, make all 4 recipes, and not spend $80.
Any kind of clothing sub. If you’re buying “vintage” clothes subs you’re really buying someones old, used clothes and paying a premium for the privilidge. As far as style boxes go…how do you really know they’re washing everything before it gets sent to you? Ew. Think about it. They’re sending some of these items to multiple people. If someone wears something and doesn’t get it dirty, are they really paying to have it cleaned or are they trying to save a little money and just sending it to someone else as is? Just the thought grosses me out.
SunnyT
Birchbox and Glossybox. Not impressed with either one.
AmyM
Gwynnie Bee and other clothing rental boxes.
Peaches ‘n Petals – the quality isn’t there
5th Avenue Style – confusing ordering process and items aren’t my style.
Sugar Bash – Nice, but…I don’t know. Maybe just missing a WOW factor.

I can’t understand the growing proliferation of beauty and skincare boxes! There seems to be a new one each day and I have no use for any–the beauty/skincare things I can get from lifestyle boxes is more than enough of things I didn’t choose for myself (but I wear makeup sparingly, so this is a very personal opinion). Also, since they can’t stop disappointing, Emma and Chloe. The last thing I got from them, which was from their own line, got hooked into my very-not-fluffy-sofa and pulled a thread, and pulled apart the link in the bracelet too, on the first day I wore it. So, pretty things with bad CS and bad quality–bad karma.
