This box features 4 Allure Best of Beauty Winners!

Now, on to the items!

La-Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Light SPF 60 Sunscreen Fluid – 3ml Value $1.80

This is a small sample, but it should be good for several face applications. It absorbs almost instantly, and my favorite part is the finish. It gives your skin a smooth, matte base perfect for makeup application!

Simple Waterboost Hydrating Gel Cream (FULL SIZE) - Retail Value $9.99

(Subscribers will either receive this cream or Simple Micellar Make-Up Remover Eye Pads)

This is one of my favorite beauty box discoveries this month! It's a hydrating gel cream that feels so soothing on your skin, and it's free of artificial fragrance, phthalates, and parabens! The formula reminds me a lot of Laneige, too!

Oribe Free Styler Working Hairspray – 1oz Value $16.92

I'm always happy to see Oribe in a subscription box - it's a luxe (and pricey) haircare line that I love! This hairspray is my ideal formula, too. It's a fine-mist that you can layer for more hold, but you don't have to worry about sticky hair or overdoing it. I could still run my fingers through my hair after using it, and it's a hairspray that actually smells good!

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation in Y335 – 5 ml Value $7.17

(This was the first time Allure has offered customization. Subscribers could pick from 4 different foundation shades.)

I usually go for full-coverage foundations, so this light-to-medium coverage isn't something I would have picked out on my own, but you can build up the foundation if you want more coverage. And my favorite part is the finish - this is one of those foundations that really looks invisible once it is on!

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Cream Lipstick C211 -1.4 grams Value $8.80

This lipstick formula is creamy, moisturizing, highly-pigmented, with a satin finish = A+! The cool pink shade is my favorite lip color, too!

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner – .04 oz Value $11.40

This eyeliner is waterproof and the felt tip marker makes it super easy to apply a straight line, too. The pigment is excellent, too.

Here it is swatched with the foundation and the lipstick:

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask – 10 ml Value $3.57

I first discovered Laneige through Target Beauty Boxes, and while I'm bummed that Target (and thus Target Beauty Boxes) no longer carry Laneige, I'm happy to see it showing up in other boxes!

With this mask, you apply a light layer on your skin after cleaning and keep it on overnight. And then you wake up to super hydrated and soft skin! The formula is gentle and free of parabens and phthalates, too.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $59.65! I think that's a great value, and I love the brands and items that were featured. A lot of these brands are tried-and-true for me (which makes sense since they are featuring Award winners), so it's a super useable box, but not as exciting as the February box for me.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Your first box will be the April box. To see what you'll get in the April box, click this link then scroll down. They items they are showing will be the first box you receive when you sign up.)

Value Breakdown: At $15 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • La-Roche Posay: $.45
  • Simple Gel Cream: $2.41
  • Oribe: $4.25
  • Make Up For Ever Foundation: $1.80
  • Make Up For Ever Lipstick: $2.21
  • Eyeko Eye Liner: $2.87
  • Laneige: $.90

Is it just me or didn’t we get the Eyeko eyeliner in this box before? I already have one and am pretty sure I got it in Allure’s bix last year.

Yes, from like 2016

I got this box, but with the eye makeup removers…. I liked it… it was my first box so I also got a gift, which was a londontowne kur nail oil… I paid a year out., so for just under $14 I think it was some great tries. The pads are handy, most days I only do eye makeup and lip, so they are great for me. I love the cute little lipstick, and it’s a nice neutral everyday shade. The Laniege is nice and cooling , I like this product a lot. Moisturizer with Sunscreen is always good and this is a nice formula, and good for carrying with. The foundation is a good color for me, Y335. I like pencil eyeliners but I have 2 teens that will put the liquid to work. This was a fun box🤗

I thought I finally found the perfect beauty sub box but not anymore. These variations are just absolutely BS! Why offer a foundation choice but send out the wrong one to everyone? And next months variations…. Good grief! The fact that they almost never had variations was the main reason I subscribed to Allure. Any variation except the one advertised will not be worth the almost $16.50 I pay for this sub. I will not be accepting/paying for another months box that is not exactly as advertised. Plain and simple. If I wanted variation crap and box envy, I’d go back to play by Sephora where at least you get some perks for getting screwed.

I never received my March box. I have emailed but no response. Is there a phone number that I can call?

Sorry I missed this box.

I do hate that they have different boxes lately but it wasn’t a huge difference between the them. Everytime I have cancelled I always come back in a month or two. Allure Beauty Box is one my favorite boxes to get. It probably more so because I am getting old and it just fits me. 7 items in this box which is Amazing. You RocK Allure!

I got this exact box and I love the Simple Gel Cream. It’s a fantastic dupe for Drunk Elephant B Hydra that I love.

I use it to stretch the other products. I do a pump of the B Hydra and a pump of the C Firma or Framboos.

The Simple Gel is such a great alternative and so much more affordable.

I am jealous you got the simple moisturizer. I got the eye makeup remover pads. They’re actually very nice, but I already have a makeup remover sheet that I’m very happy with (one of the few things I buy on repeat). But I am still on the hunt for my holy grail moisturizer!

After all the hype on being able to select your foundation shade I ended up with the darkest shade after selecting the lightest one. Whoopsies Allure! I like the rest of the items, but am a bit disappointed as I am always searching for the perfect foundation for my finicky skin.

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

Same here. I requested the lightest and received the darkest. Customer service said they would send the right shade. I don’t think they are ready for customization.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

I asked for the lightest and got the lightest. It was too dark for me by a long shot.

Reply ButtonReply

Lily

I got the wrong color too. I emailed them, though, and they’re sending the correct color!

Ashley

Did you ever get your replacement foundation? I emailed them and they said I would be sent the lightest shade. That was 23 days ago! They said up to 10 business days

magoosmom

I know some weren’t happy with this box but I thought “Wow, there’s a lot of stuff in this box!” and was pleasantly surprised. The lipstick looked way better than I thought it would, the Simple was great to try–and a fantastic size. I have already used the Laneige twice. I appreciate the chance to try the foundation–it would have been hard to match all the skin tones out there, so I just looked at that as a chance to give it a try.

Picked the lightest foundation and was way too dark. Hate liquid eyeliners. Just not excited about this box anymore and sadly cancelled 😢

Reply ButtonReply

Kearstin

Same. I used nothing in this box and I think that’s the first time that’s EVER happened with a sub. I cancelled Boxy because I could only use 2 items. Allure is on thin ice with me 😕😕

Christine

Did anyone else notice the info booklet was different this month? There is no model on the front and it was more condensed down and shorter.

Reply ButtonReply

Yeah, I noticed right away & didn’t like it. I think it goes along with their other new changes like Elizabeth taking over from Patty and offering many more variations than ever before. None of them are particularly good signs, which is why I finally dropped Allure after 3 mostly delightful years subbing. They offered me $10/box for 4 mos to stay and I still said no. I hope I don’t regret it. 😉

I love Allure…definitely one of my favourite subs. 🙂

I haven’t received a box since January. I’ve emailed back and forth. I just now called and cs tried to convince me that I did get them, but finally could see I didn’t. Of course no clue why I don’t get them or how to fix it. I even tried to sign up with a new email last week, but that got cancelled as a duplicate account. Now I’m waiting for an account manager to get back to me. I would have just ordered March from Amazon, but Allure was shipping an old box there. My account page just says call or email and account balance $0… not very helpful

I’ve been having the SAME EXACT problem!! I haven’t received a box since December!! I called late January bc I hadn’t received an email and they assured me I would get the January box (which I really wanted bc I wanted the Sunday Riley Vitamin C serum), by the first week of February they sent me a bill for February and I still had no January box, so I called saying I wasn’t paying for another box until I received my January box. I got told they’d already taken the payment for the February box, and I’d be receiving Both boxes by mid February. Called back 3 times and got the same answers until the 13th of March. Then someone told me the “January and February boxes sold out like the first Week of those months. We can refund your money but can’t get you the January or February boxes. We’re so sorry this mistake happened..” I Finally talked to a supervisor and told them they needed to get stuff sorted out because I was very unhappy that I’d been LIED TO for months. I could’ve ordered other boxes, I could’ve spent that money elsewhere. The only explanation he could give me was that Maybe I’d talked to new employees who didn’t know exactly what they were looking at. I explained to Him that That isn’t My problem; his employees should know better than to promise out something unless they’re 100% Certain they can deliver on that promise. Maybe it helped 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know. I’m very disappointed with them, I’m still sticking with them though. I’ve been a subscriber for 3 years I thought Surely they’d offer to send me Some kind of replacement but they didn’t…

I love the Laneige sleeping mask. The first time I used it, I found it annoyingly sticky. I put it on when I went to bed and left it on overnight. The next morning I loved how soft my skin felt. I can put up with a little sticky at bedtime for the results the next day!

Got my box today for March. Eyeliner is made in China so that went straight into the trash. All the rest is useful, albeit slightly boring items. The past two months were great, so I can handle a boring month.

Reply ButtonReply

Alex

I have a hard time with products made in PRC too. It’s tough because you can subscribe to boxes that don’t include them, but all of my favorite boxes have products that are made in China. And not just cosmetics but jewelry and dishware as well.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

That’s a little ridiculous to just throw a product away because of where it’s manufactured, don’t you think? I’m sure someone else would have been appreciative to receive that.

Reply ButtonReply

Kearstin

Amber, actually it’s NOT ridiculous. Whether or not we ingest toxins elsewhere is irrelevant. She’s choosing to be responsible about what goes in and on her body. How is that wrong?? Use it. Knock yourself out. I’m not, others aren’t. To each their own. Geez.

Lynn m.

I have a hard time.passing something to someone else that I don’t use bc of unfair market and labor practices, known uses of heavy metals and contaminants, and poisoning of animals and babies.

Tanya

What a nice review 😀

I know a lot of people had problems with this month’s box, but it turns out that every single item in this box was perfect for me. (I got lucky and they sent the correct foundation sample to me that I chose). I am gifting the gel creme to my best friend who has the most reactive skin in the whole world and is always looking for a moisturizer. The lip color is the world’s perfect shade for me and the Laniege is my favorite new discovery. It makes my super dry aging skin feel velvety soft.

Allure is my top beauty box almost every month. So even when it ships late, it’s always worth the wait for me.

I liked it, the hairspray alone made me happy. Think this box delivers so often, a box normally x10 better than say the Play box disappoints if it is OK. It has built up good expectations.
