Anime Bento April 2018 Unboxing and Review
Here's the info card for the box, which lists the items inside!
The first item is this free trial offer for HiDive, an anime streaming site. I received this card in last month's box as well.
Morinaga ChocoBall in Caramel - Retail Value $2.69
Each box comes with something to snack on. This month, it's this pack of "Chocoball" candies. They're chocolate candies with chewy caramel insides. They didn't wow me, but I do think it's cute to get some Japanese candies along with the collectibles in this box. I noticed that this candy was different than the "Sour Cola Candy" listed on the info card.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Keychain
I couldn't find a reliable price for this rubber keychain online. It's about 3 inches long and has a rubbery feel to it. I like all of the details they captured from Dio Brando's outfit!
Mob Psycho 100 Lanyard - Retail Value $9.29
This lanyard is perfect for wearing your ID badge for work, school, or your next convention. The material is a really thick, smooth weave that's comfortable around my neck. The bonus sticker is cool, too!
Berserk Beanie Hat - Retail Value $17.99
This hat doesn't feel particularly special or unique to me—it's just a knit hat with the Berserk logo embroidered on it. But it's a soft, somewhat floppy hat that'll be fun to wear on the last few chillier days of early spring. According to the info card, subscribers would either get this hat or a pair of socks.
The Verdict: This box is fun, but doesn't feel quite special enough for the cost in my opinion. The box costs over $40.00 (price + shipping) but the items feel a little run of the mill. This box has 5 items inside, meaning each item, including the candy and the free trial, would have an average value of about $8.48. I like the assortment of shows featured, and the 3 items I could find a price for did have a value of about $29.97 (meaning that the keychain and free trial must be worth about $6.21). But compared to other less expensive anime boxes I review (which feature exclusive items and extras like posters, etc.), I felt like the polish/special-ness wasn't quite there. Fingers crossed it'll keep getting better month by month!
