Limited Edition Birchbox Man 'Off The Clock' Review

This Limited Edition box featured 7 items ranging from lifestyle to self-care items.

Like all Birchbox shipments, you'll get an information card that details each item in your box.

Lucky Bastard Cabin Candle - Value $35

One of the big-ticket lifestyle items was a cabin candle from Lucky Bastard.

It has that nice pine needle scent - very cabin-y indeed - and features a wooden wick, so you'll be getting those crackles and pops of a fireplace, too!

Even better, once you burn this down, the glass was designed to double as a whiskey glass.

Bombas Merino Wool Socks - Value $18

If you are familiar with Bombas, you'll know that they have a few unique bits about their socks to make the perfect fit.

The part I like the most about the socks are the honeycomb design on your foot - it has a nice compression feel to it which used to cause me a bit of foot pain, but doesn't anymore - yes! Even better, this is the first pair I've tried that are wool. They're very comfortable and warm.

Marlowe 003 Body Lotion - Value $8.99

The first self-care item is a simple and basic moisturizing lotion from Marlowe. It's fragrance-free, which I appreciate, and didn't leave any type of residue after applying it and rubbing it in. Those are about all of the check marks I look for in a lotion!

PLANT Apothecary Calm Down Body Wash - Value $20 (based on the 'Wake Up' version)

My absolute favorite item in the box was this lavender/ginger body wash. To me, it's almost got a gin & tonic scent - which is a favorite of mine, so that was a welcome surprise. I've been using this the past few days and I'm a fan!

Anthony Deep Pore Cleansing Clay - Value $24

This is a clay face mask formula to help fight oily skin. As an owner of an oily face, I gave this a shot over the past few days - it seems like it's been working pretty well - my face definitely feels less oily lately.

Level Naturals Eucalyptus + Lime Bath Bombs - Value $5.50 for two

I gave this bath bomb a try over the past few days as well. Pop this into a warm bath and let it go to work - it creates a bit of a fizz while it's dissolving and leaves you with a pleasant and calming aroma.

Lucky Bastard Gentlemen's Lip Balm - Value $8

The final item is a lip balm for (hopefully) the last hurrah of cold days. This is infused with natural oils to help moisturize and protect - even SPF protection.

Verdict: My values add up to about $120 in value - slightly off from the $125 they mention on the page, but still fantastic for the $55 price. I thought all of the items in the collection went nicely together - I got that 'off the clock', time to relax vibe for the selections.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box? Yes. It's still available for purchase!

Bath bombs for men? I know of no man who takes baths.

So do I. My husband, who is retired from the military, takes baths. A few years ago he had a lung infection that landed him in the hospital and of course it was also in the middle of winter in New England. I got him to take hot baths with bath bombs made with mint or eucalyptus. Helped him so much. Now every winter he takes a lot of baths because they help his lungs plus it relaxes him. I always remind him of the Friends episode when Monica shows Chandler how to take a real bath, lol.
I will be resubscribing to bb man after our move. Thanks for the review.

Much more valuable than the recent women’s boxes, IMO. More items that I would use at any rate, if I were their targeted demographic. I wish they had a bath focused box for women instead of some questionable shade of lipstick mixed with “meh” or kitschy home items.
