Bokksu "Glamorous Tokyo" March 2018 Review
There is a welcome letter from the founder inside the box with a code for 15% off any order from their Global Bokksu Market.
Also included is a pamphlet describing all of the wonderful treats in store for you.
Koala’s March Strawberry - Retail Value $2.00
These are almost too cute to eat! These little crunchy cookies are filled with a soft strawberry creme filling. I love the koala images printed on them. This is a really fun item and the cost per box is very reasonable.
Black Sesame Goma Senbei - Buy a 9-pack for $6.00
Senbei is a traditional Japanese rice cracker. It’s very crisp and crunchy and it definitely has a distinct toasted sesame flavor. I’d love to dip this in some miso soup or a ramen bowl.
Horn Milk Chocolate - Buy an 8-pack for $4.00
This mini cookie bar (it’s so cute and tiny) has Meiji chocolate sandwiched between two buttery biscuit layers. This little treat would be a delight dipped in coffee or hot cocoa.
ChickaLicious Chocolate And Banana Cobbler
This was a delightful treat. I wasn’t expecting this Bokksu-exclusive cobbler to be so moist and fresh tasting. I didn’t get a lot of banana flavor, but it was still good nonetheless.
Just like the chocolate and banana cobbler, this Bokksu-exclusive treat was very moist and chewy. These are really packaged well. This one was like eating a mini apple pie...so good!
Cafe Latte Stick - Buy a 5-pack for $4.00 (found here for $2.00)
Described as a light latte with a rich taste, these instant coffee packs are great for on the go! Make a cold brew or hot brew, sit back and relax. I didn’t have a chance to make a cup, but I’m definitely going to be dipping some snacks into a cup of this over the weekend!
Maple Butter Cookie - Buy a 32-pack for $60.00
The first thing that I noticed with these cookies was the Americana themed packaging. Odd for a product out of Tokyo. These little cookies pack a wonderful buttery maple punch. I’m glad there are three of these in the box!
Premium Almond Rusk - Buy a 14-pack for $9.48
I really liked these as well. It’s a crunchy baguette slice topped with almonds and a delicious glaze. I need to buy some more of these!
Tokyo Chocolate Tea - Buy a 14-pack for $28.00
These were decadently good. Melty milk chocolate covers a tea-infused cookie. These are ridiculously flavorful.
Vegetable Potato Sticks - Retail Value $1.00 (Buy 5 bags for $3.00)
Described as “Japan’s favorite potato snack”, however not my favorite snack in the box. There’s definitely a strong, salty vegetable taste to them along with a really good crunch.
Mini Fried Rice Crackers - Retail Value $1.00
These are definitely as described...sweet and savory. These fried rice crackers are coated in a sweet soy sauce. Definitely unusual and oddly good. I can see how these might be addictive.
Verdict: This was a fun box and I definitely had my fill of treats. The majority of the snacks were really unique and unlike anything I’ve had before. I think the Koala crackers were my favorite snack...if not just because they were so cute and fun. The ChickaLicious cobbler bars were an amazing treat and totally unexpected.
