Lavish Bath Box April 2018 "Queen Bee" Review

Here is the info sheet that includes the name of the products, the shop that they are from, and any available coupon code. I love having easy access to the shop websites and coupons for future purchases!

Yours Truly Honey Bee Bubble Bar, 3.5 oz

Yours Truly Honey Bee Bubble Bar, 3.5 oz - Estimated Value $6.50 (based on similarly sized bubble bars from the company found here)

Kicking things off was this adorable bubble bar that has a honeycomb pattern at the top of the bar, complete with a bee! It is so cute I didn't want to crumble it. I totally did though, and this crumbled easily to make a nice amount of bubbles in a sweet honey and caramel scent.

Be Dazzled Honey Hive Bar Soap, 6 oz

Be Dazzled Honey Hive Bar Soap, 6 oz - Estimated Value $8.00

I am not a bar soap person, but if anything is going to convert me it would be this luscious bar. The scent of honey, oatmeal, and vanilla makes for a comforting and soothing smell, and I love that this bar contains ground oats for gentle exfoliation. Plus, it really is a work of art!

Mod Bath and Body Hi Honey Sugar Scrub, 8 oz

Mod Bath and Body Hi Honey Sugar Scrub, 8 oz - Estimated Value $12 (based on other sugar scrubs from the company found here)

Unsurprisingly, this honey and almond scented scrub smells lovely. This scrub is both a soap and a scrub, so you get clean while also exfoliating. I really enjoy sugar scrubs like this one because they leave my skin soft after using, and I am a total slacker when it comes to putting on lotion when I get out of the shower. I also appreciate the little honeycomb soap at the top of this scrub— that added touch of whimsy goes a long way!

Salted Rock Bath Co Turmeric & Honey Face Mask, 1 oz - Retail Value $8

Y’all, I was so excited for this mask. I have heard of the awesome anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric, and honey is always a prime skin care ingredient. Plus, since honey is yellow and turmeric is an orange/yellow color, I was excited to put on a bright yellow face mask so I could look like an emoji. Well, it was bright, all right, only somehow it was green and now I am the daughter of Shrek and the Grinch.

Let’s be honest, I’m a cute green person. Color aside, this mask was comfortable to wear and didn't make my skin burn. This is the first time I have tried a powder mask (I have really been wanting to, though), and the next time I do this mask I am going to mix it with apple cider vinegar instead of water. I will be able to get another two masks out of this pouch, which is great.

Urban Whip Oat Milk + Honey Foaming Sugar Scrub Bar, 2.5 oz

Urban Whip Oat Milk + Honey Foaming Sugar Scrub Bar, 2.5 oz - Retail Value $5

Sticking with the theme, this honey scented sugar scrub bar smelled nice but didn't perform well. Mine didn't foam when I used it, and it felt kind of dry when I tried to glide it over my wet skin. I am going to try and get it wetter the next time I use it in the hopes of that solving the problem.

Nerdy Not Dirty Queen Bee Bath Bomb

Nerdy Not Dirty Queen Bee Bath Bomb - Estimated Value $8 (Based on other bath bombs from the company found here)

This bath bomb is everything. It is a generous size of handprinted queen bee goodness, and I feel like this bath bomb was made especially for me. Literally—when I sent my mom a picture her reply was “that is so you.” The floral scent of this bomb made me think of a flower that a bee would land on (not the queen bee, because she chills out at the hive while the men bees do all the work), but the real magic happened when it met water.

I thought it would be a classic yellow color, but as the bomb started to dissolve some blue came out of nowhere to surprise us all! The end result was a fun green color, and being surprised by the color change was a real delight.

The Verdict: The masterminds behind Lavish Bath Box are really excellent at curating boxes. Once again, everything included fits the theme perfectly, and even the scents of the products coordinated with the theme! I calculated an estimated value of $47.50, which just meets the total cost of the box. Considering the thoughtful curation and fun products (some of them being exclusive to this box!) from small brands, I do feel like I got my money's worth.
