Little Fun Club March 2018 Review
In addition to the books, I received a Little Fun Club card and door hanger.
When Your Llama Needs A Haircut by Susanna Leonard Hill – Retail Value $7.99
This book has vivid colors and a fun storyline. The book is about a llama that needs a haircut and the many hairstyles and silliness that follows. My son liked this book and I thought it was a hit as well.
Fire Truck to the Rescue! (Take the Wheel!) by Alan Copeland – Retail Value $8.99 (found here for $7.05)
This fire truck story is fun and simple. You can actually hold the sides through the holes of the book to make it feel like you are holding the steering wheel and looking out the front window of the fire truck. The story had us hooked and the illustration was bright and vivid.
Little Penguins by Cynthia Rylant – Retail Value $17.99 (found here $12.59)
This story is very simple in its tone and illustrations. It feels elegant and calm. The story is about Penguins in winter. While I enjoyed this book, my son wasn’t as excited. I feel like perhaps a better choice would have been something more seasonally relevant. A book about Winter in the middle of Spring isn’t something I would normally pick. I will try it with my son again before winter next year and see if he appreciates it more then.
Verdict: Getting such a beautifully wrapped package truly felt like a luxurious gift. Little Fun Club's presentation is beautiful and the books are all high quality. The retail value this month was $34.97 (less with sale prices) which is below the cost of the box. I think the price is fair when considering the beautiful packaging and feel of the box. I enjoyed this box!
