Love With Food Gluten Free March 2018 Review

Although I don’t strictly eat a gluten-free diet, I can certainly appreciate wanting healthy and tasty alternatives when you have dietary restrictions. When my son was born, we discovered he had a pretty severe dairy allergy. This meant I had to cut all the dairy out of my diet so I could continue to nurse or I would have to turn to expensive formula. This was such a learning experience for me, but I discovered new and exciting alternatives that tasted just as good, if not better. This makes me excited to try the Gluten Free version of this box. Let’s see what’s inside!

In addition to the monthly info card, I received a few coupons, including one for Hello Fresh. Check out our reviews to learn more and save $30 off your first order!

Pop Chips Nutter Puffs in Peanut Butter, 1 oz x 2

Pop Chips Nutter Puffs in Peanut Butter, 1 oz x 2 – Buy 24 Bags for $24.99

I fell in love with these little peanut butter puffs immediately. I was super excited to receive two of these bags in this month’s subscription, especially because my son loves them so much. The peanut butter flavor wasn’t overpowering but it got better after each bite.

Bare Cinnamon Banana Chips, 1.3oz

Bare Cinnamon Banana Chips, 1.3oz - Buy 6 bags for $23.36

These little cinnamon chips ended up being a little too far on the crunchy side for me, but if you’re into that, these will be right up your alley. The flavor was a perfect combination of apple and cinnamon for me; neither was too overpowering. These are a great alternative for healthy snacking!

Emmy’s Vanilla Bean, 2oz

Emmy’s Vanilla Bean, 2oz -  Buy 12 bags for $29.95

Emmy’s has such great products. These little morsels have a wonderful shredded coconut texture and are complimented perfectly with vanilla flavoring. For me, they’re on the sweet and satisfying side, so I only have one at a time. It’s a nice way to round out a meal.

Laiki Black Rice Crackers, 0.74 oz x 2

Laiki Black Rice Crackers, 0.74 oz x 2 – Buy 24 Bags for $36 (found here for $30)

I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed these rice crackers. I expected them to them have a gritty, almost dirt-like flavor (based on the colors), but they really surprised me. They were light and airy, provided a good crunch, and had the perfect amount of salt. I can see pairing these with hummus or guacamole in the future.

HerbaLand Protein Gummies, 10g - Retail Value $2.75 USD ($3.50 CAD)

I wouldn’t describe these as incredibly tasty like a Welch’s fruit snack, but for it to contain a significant nutritional value, it’s very good. I’ve taken multiple vitamin gummies in my time and these rank very high on the scrumptiousness scale. They provide 28g of fiber, 10g of protein, and only has 1g of sugar! These little guys are packed full of goodness – and bonus – they’re vegan!

TruWomen Zesty Lemon Protein Bar, 1.69oz

TruWomen Zesty Lemon Protein Bar, 1.69oz - Retail Value $2.99

This protein bar is delicious! The outside is creamy, lemony and melts into the harder filling inside. It’s made with plant-based ingredients and contains 12g of protein. I have a hard time eating breakfast in the morning, but I think this would entice me to grab this to eat during my commute.

Angel Mints, 2 candies – Buy 6 oz for $10.99

These remind me of the candies my grandma used to have at her house when I was little. They very well could be the same ones, as these have been around since 1919. They dissolve quickly and have a subtle, but lasting peppermint flavor. These would be nice to keep in your vintage candy dish or to toss in your bag for a quick refresher.

Prince of Peace Ginger Chews with Lemon, 4.4 oz – Buy 2 Bags for $7.49

Holy ginger! This bag contains a plentiful amount of individually wrapped, long lasting ginger chews. The flavor is strong and the consistency is chewy. If you like ginger and lemon, these are perfect for you! Got an upset stomach? Let’s see if this helps!

The Verdict: This assortment of gluten-free snacks was surprisingly very good. I really liked the majority of everything I got to taste. Anyone who does eat a strictly gluten-free diet would certainly appreciate the variety of items they’re able to try at one time. I think they offer enough snacks to last the entire month, as well as open your eyes (and stomachs) to new items. This box is a win in my book.

To Wrap Up:

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $24.99 + shipping, which means that each of the 10 items in the box has an average cost of $2.50.

I was first introduced to subscription boxes when I bumped into Bluum for my little one but quickly discovered new favorites like Hello Fresh and Scentbird. I love boxes that add a fun twist to the normal day-to-day activities and anything I can share with my family.

This looks more my style than back when I was subscribed. I usually only really wanted to try a few things then but I would have tried this entire box! I am sad I missed out on a few of these, esp those pb puffs
