Joy Mangano Water Filter Kit - Retail Value $12.53

Oh no! I know this kit all too well. I got one in a previous Monthly Mystery Box by Jamminbutter last year, one in a Mini Monthly Mystery Box by Jamminbutter, AND one in a Peaches and Petals box. All of those boxes are under the same umbrella company, so they must be sharing inventory. I guess if you don't subscribe to all three, the repeats won't be such an issue (#reviewerproblems), but it is still a bummer to get two of the same product within a year from the same subscription box. The filter set is meant to help clean up tap water for drinking and includes a bottle and a few spare filters. It's a little clunky to use often, though. So many moving parts to keep track of!

Dry Erase Calendar

This is much more my style! This big magnetic calendar is 12" x 15.5" and has a nice dry erase gloss to it. The month and date boxes are of course blank, so you can use it month to month. There's even a space at the bottom for notes! The calendar comes with two pens (one red and one black) that have magnets on their caps. I love my digital calendars, but nothing's quite like writing something down IRL. It always helps me remember my appointments better!

Light Works 360 Pyramid Lantern

I couldn't find this lantern (which is arguably a cone, not a pyramid) online. It'll be handy for taking out to the patio during evening snacks/conversation. The lamp is small and lightweight at about 7" tall. I wasn't expecting it to be as bright as it is, but those crisp white LEDs really do the trick!

Star Wars Trivia Board Game in Storage Tin - Retail Value $16.99

Yay Star Wars! This board game comes packed inside a cool metal tin, rather than a regular box. There are pieces and pens so that you can ally yourself on teams or go it alone. The game is scored by putting together lightsaber pieces, which can be won or lost. It's a pretty cute setup and the perfect accompaniment for a night with some nerdy friends.

The Verdict: I wish this box had featured anything but that water filter set! It's just such a complicated contraption for doing what my on-faucet filter probably does just fine already. Plus it's a repeat item for this subscription (as well as others from the same company). The other products were cool though—I especially liked the calendar, and the light will come in handy, I'm sure. The game would be a great gift if you didn't feel like keeping it yourself. While I couldn't find prices for every item in the box, the values I did find add up to $29.52, which is already over the cost of the $24.99 box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? There's no telling which random items you'll get inside this box, even if you sign up today. Subscribe now to get your own box of surprises!

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $24.99 (with free shipping). The items I could find values for added up to $29.52, which is already above the cost of the box. Going by the box cost, the average value I paid for each of the 4 products was $6.25.

The dreaded water filters…. In my mystery boxes I WAS getting from them, I now have 11 of them. Some came in bonuses mystery surprise boxes. 4 yes I said 4, came in the supposedly “all new, no repeat from previous” mystery box in December. On another note, I was one of the winners in the days of December giveaways. I did exactly what it said to do to claim my prize. A little over a week later I received an email from them telling me to take another step. I did and I still haven’t received my prize. It was the halogen table top cooker.

This all seems like junk! And a Star Wars game? Seriously? Not everyone is a fan.

Anna, your first picture shows a pack of Tetris glasses are they from this month too?

MNM

I got all this stuff, except the calendar, in my March box. I hope I don’t get it again this month! (And instead of the calendar, I got a “massaging bath mat.” LOL)

I got those Tetris glasses and about freaked out! And I guess I’m the only one that actually really like the Joy filter. I pack it and take it with my while I travel so I can filter the hotel water. Was happy to get another one. That’s it though, 2 is enough lol. The magnetic calendar won’t stick to my fridge, as I still have an early SS one that doesn’t like magnets. Oh well, like the other things!

OMG that darn filter! I have had so many I think everyone I know has one now from me giving them my extras from their boxes! If I never see another one that would be fine by me because like u said it’s just to bulky and just no!! I’m SOOOO SO happy I cancelled all my subs with them this month! I even canceled the newer cat sub one of the companies has now because of repeat crap!

Rachel

How did you manage to cancel? There’s a button to cancel online, but when I click it, it says I have to call to cancel. I’ve been trying to and can’t actually get ahold of anyone at their phone number or get any response from their email address. Looking for any advice to actually get this horrible subscription cancelled. My most recent package was size xxxl gloves (I wear a small and could probably fit both hands and both feet in these things) and an opened cable management item that smelled so horrible! Before that I got a huge thick hat (I live in Florida) and an Elvis bath sponge. Needless to say I’m not impressed.

I couldn’t get them to return my call to cancel the cat sub. Had to contact my credit card company.

This company has burned me twice!! Shame on me but won’t happen again.

Danielle

Is there a Tetris item?

I also see something Tetris branded in your first photo?

I think I’m going to send their box to my neither-in-law for his birthday. He’s usually up for anything.

I also saw Tetris glasses? Or mugs? This box looks like A lot of fun. I may subscribe after my move.
