I bit the bullet and tried NY&C closet. The one that is near me closed down so I would have to buy the things online anyway. When you set up your subscription they give you access to the online selection. You pick the pieces you’re interested in (they suggest at least 20 options) then they mail you out three of the things that you’ve chosen. The discounts I’ve seen so far range from 20%-70% below the retail price. I bought two items from my first box for about $20 each and mailed back the other. There is a two day shipping on return items which is typically for me three days by the time I drop it off and it’s put in the system. I do not like that you have to return all three items in order to get your next shipment. I would really like to be able to return say one item and get a new one shipped to me. Versus wearing all three and then returning all three and waiting for three more. For instance this week I mailed back the three items on Monday, they will receive them on Wednesday I probably won’t get a new shipment until Friday or Saturday. For a subscription service that ends up being about $52 with tax realistically you can get between 3 or 4 boxes each month. The only way to expedite that I think is to buy each box, which kind of defeats the purpose of a rental system. I will continue for another month due to the fact that we no longer have the local store; however, I am not sure that I will continue indefinitely. If turn around time was quicker I’d be happier.

I’m in. I love NY&C clothes and I’m losing weight, so this is an all around win for me.
I wish they had a 6 piece option, so I could have even more stuff to wear during the week. –Or an outfits/accessories option with COMPLETE outfits. I would love to have an option with: 1 dress, 2 pants, 3 shirts.
I’m wondering what the discount will be if we decide to purchase the clothes. It doesn’t say. Also, I noticed that it says they will price match (without coupons) the prices on the NY&C website if the purchase price is lower on their website.
I’m hoping the shipping is fast and looking forward to trying this service. I was really happy with the selection on their site. I can’t wait until my order ships!

I really love their style! I think If they had a coupon to try I would definitely try but not without a coupon!

I loves me a good clothing box review, so yes, bring it on!

I think the last sentence under “Your Products” has Infinite Style by Ann Taylor and not NY&C, the sentence about the sizes.

Yes it does, the last part says:
Infinite Style by Ann Taylor offers women’s sizes 0—20 (XS-XXL)
I looked at their dresses and items and I really like it and I have to try it.

Please, please, please review this!! I would love to see what sort of options they offer before giving them my credit card information (which is what you have to do on their site, and something I would NEVER do. ). I just want a little preview of what they’ve got to choose from!
I’m about to start in a new, very professional career where I have to be dressed up at work everyday, and subscriptions like this may save me for a while!
Just click on the different categories and it shows the options – pretty nice selection!

I feel like NY&Co is affordable enough that I wouldn’t want to pay for a rental service, but for someone who likes to change their wardrobe up often, and doesn’t have a lot of space, this would be a great deal. They seem to always have a little something for everyone.

You do have a point; maybe if the monthly fee were lower, it would be more worthwhile. For me, I tend to buy more bland, staple pieces there and shy away from trendier stuff because I feel like I won’t want to wear it in a year or two, so a subscription would be a way to wear the trendier stuff without committing to buying it. I am also losing weight, so there’s that aspect to clothing rental services. I’m trying to figure out what I want to do, as for me it’s likely going to be a short-term thing. I am considering trying the free month of Gwynnie Bee to test the clothing rental waters.

That’s also a really good point. You don’t want to invest in clothes while you’re losing weight, because you’ll just have to constantly keep buying clothes. Good luck!! Gwynnie Bee sounds like a good one to start with, especially for a free month!

I used to shop at NY&Co. all. the. time. Then they got weirdly overly trendy for my liking and dumped some of the more classic looks they had. They seem to have found a middle ground, and I have been impressed by some of the stuff I’ve seen there. In short, I would love to see this sub reviewed!
