Papergang is a monthly stationery subscription box from quirky UK design team, Ohh Deer. Each month they partner with a different artist and have a theme to bring you paper goods and desk accessories.
They always have really stellar packaging designed specially each month by the featured artist. This month is absolutely no exception—I'm really digging on the abstract (but seemingly plant-themed, yass!) neons of this box, as well as the doodled animals that you'll soon see on some products inside. Usually, the back of the box has a paper cut out craft designed by Daniel Randle. This month's is a turtle.
Oh gosh, I totally botched this turtle! I doubted that the white side of the craft paper should be showing as the shell and over-bent it in the opposite direction, leading to a bit of a rip. I also now see that I didn't cut along the lines as tidily as I thought I had. Whoops!
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Papergang April 2018 Review
Papergang includes a fun little info booklet each month that matches the box and theme of the contents! Let's go through it together...
Open the booklet and you'll find the contents of this box (Box #26). This month's featured artist is more like a collective, and it's also a charity, ARTHOUSE. ARTHOUSE was founded by Becky Sheraidah in 2005 as a space where men and women living with physical and learning difficulties can come to express themselves creatively. Amazing!
The next pages show tidbits of an interview with Becky, and they also give a little bit of info about Chris and Dom, the team of best friends whose *awesome* art is featured on this month's packaging, as well as throughout the box.
I love what ARTHOUSE is doing and I'm so thrilled that Papergang partnered with them this month, spreading the good word. On the inside of the back cover is a little ad that might look familiar to Papergang subscribers! Find out more info about their referral program at papergang.ohhdeer.com/faq.
And, on the back cover, they let us know that they've updated their shipping dates so boxes will now ship at the beginning of each month. Hooray!
A5-ish Notebook - Listed Value About $12.31 USD (£9.95)
I would venture to guess that every stationery enthusiast is a notebook collecting fiend...or is it just me? Either way, this one is so, so good. Its print matches the box this month and was designed by Dom and Chris, who were featured in the booklet. It's got a hardback cover with delightfully rounded edges (it's the little things), a white box on the front for you to mark up with a subject or anything else you wish, a sheet of planner-type stickers on the inside, and pages that have lines on the front but not on the back. Is that this notebook's way of inviting illustrations? 'Cause, I mean, that can definitely be arranged. No doubt, I'm going to covet this journal for a very long time before growing the guts to actually write in it. Because I'm a stationery nerd and that's how I live my life. *shrugging emoji*
Sticky Notes - Listed Value About $4.33 USD (£3.50)
Oh gosh, the animal doodles decorating these sticky notes are just too stinkin' adorable! They almost look like well-loved stuffed animals with their huggable bodies and dangly legs. I just love them so much! Again, I'm definitely going to have trouble actually using this notepad because I don't ever want to face the day when the sheets run out. For very special occasions/notes only!
Washi Tape - Listed Value About $3.09 USD (£2.50)
Here they are again! Yes! I have quite the collection of washi tape, built up both from previous Papergang offerings and from the washi tape subscription that I review. While at first, I was like "...and what exactly do I do with this stuff?" I now realize the possibilities are endless and I don't know how I ever lived without the quirk and charm of fun designs on my tape. When I look into my crystal ball, I see a future filled with the animals on this tape making me smile a whole lot.
2 Greeting Cards - Listed Value About $6.19 USD (£5.00)
I did a very small, very private jig when I found not one but two greeting cards in my box this month. I love sending mail to my friends and I also really, really prefer to give cards that are actually reflections of my personality. These two are spot on. I got a quirky thank you and a color-bursting "just because" card that could also be used for someone's birthday. I am so pleased!
Both come with brown paper envelopes and both are blank inside.
Bonus: May Calendar Card - Estimated Value $1.35? (£1?)
Finally, the riso printed calendar that's always included as a little bonus item in each Papergang box! Featuring none other than the doodled animals I love so much. Maybe this means June is going to be a really good month. I sure hope so!
Verdict: I am so thrilled about this month's collaboration between Papergang and ARTHOUSE, and such a fan of the designs they decided to feature! I can't wait to use these stationery items but not before obsessing over them in a Gollum sort of way. It's that serious. I received a hardback notebook, a pad of sticky notes, a roll of washi tape, two cards, and a bonus calendar, which added up to about $28 USD. That's a great value, considering the box itself is about $22 USD, including shipping costs!
