Peaches and Petals March 2018 Box Review
The first thing I spied in the box was this card that tells me how to sign up for text alerts for Peaches and Petals.
The opposite side reminds us that Spring started March 20th and challenges us to buy a plant and keep it thriving.
Small Bites 5 Piece Antipasti Serving Set - Retail Value $18.99
The first item is the biggest and probably the "hero" of this month: a slate and bamboo tray with 4 stoneware dishes. I was actually pretty delighted when I saw this because I love to entertain and always need things to serve snacks on. If I had my way, I'd only eat from a charcuterie board the rest of my life, so this is a perfect little item. The tray is in two separate pieces: the bamboo base, plus the slate that sits on top. I noticed that up close it looked almost like the slate was cracked and reassembled at one point, but it's hard to tell if that's true or if it's just the way the slate is. It does seem to be on the fragile side, so I'd hate to drop this even a short distance because it would probably easily break. Then there are the 4 white square stoneware dishes that sit on top (or really, can go wherever). If you wanted to set bread and cheese on the slate, then have olives and other sorts in the dishes on the side, that'd be perfect. Even if I were to ditch the slate board, I could definitely use the small serving dishes because I don't have anything like it to eat salsa or similar out of. Each dish is about 3.5 inches square at the top with a depth of 1.25 inches. Overall, the dishes seem like a much better quality than the board, which was on the flimsy side.
"Let's Run Away" Canvas Tote Bag
The next item is a natural canvas cotton tote bag with the phrase "Let's Run Away" on one side in black ink. I am obsessed with and collect tote bags, so this is again a great item for me. I am somehow always misplacing my grocery bags too, so this 12x14 inch tote would be perfect for produce or items I don't want to throw into a larger bag and risk getting smashed. The two straps seem nice and sturdy and are long enough for me to comfortably fit over my shoulder for easy carrying. The other side is blank, so if you aren't into the phrase, you can just flip it towards you so no one can see.
The Beach Is My Happy Place Kitchen Towel - Estimated Retail Value $9.95 (similar linked)
The first and only miss for me in the box is this kitchen towel. I like teal, but the beachy turtle theme isn't me at all, and the beach isn't really my happy place either. This would be perfect for someone with a beach house or one that at least lives near a large body of water and can appreciate the sun and sand. Otherwise, it's still a good quality and is 100% cotton. I couldn't find this exact one on the brand's site but found similar state-themed ones.
Green & Black's 70% Cacao Pure Dark Chocolate, 3.17 oz. - Retail Value $3.67
Well heck, I'm always going to be happy with some nice dark chocolate! I'm familiar with this brand and see it at Whole Foods among other places. The chocolate bar itself is huge and made with 70% cacao so it's not very sweet at all, but still smooth as silk. Even better, the cocoa is ethically sourced and isn't made with anything artificial. Yum!
The Verdict: For only $19.99, Peaches and Petals sent me four items of which only one wasn't really for me. The serving set alone practically paid for the cost of the box and I got a new grocery tote and a nice big bar of fancy chocolate. I'd say this was a positive experience all around for my first time!

Value Breakdown: At $19.99 with free shipping, each item only ended up costing me about $5.00. Since two of the four items I could find online were double and triple that in retail, I think it's a great value.
