Pop In A Box is a Funko POPs subscription that helps you build out your collection every month! You can sign up to receive 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, or 12 POPs each month.

This is a review of a 6-POP delivery.

One thing to note with this subscription - sometimes, your POPs arrive in different packages - weeks apart! It hasn't happened in quite a while for me, though, but it is still worth mentioning.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

April 2018 POP In A Box Review

My April 2018 Pop In A Box Subscription Box featured POPs from Death Note, Avengers: Infinity War, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, IT, and Rick and Morty!

This is a no-frills subscription. You'll be getting the amount of POPs of your choice in a plain brown box. But, with any subscription, you'll have a chance to pull a 6 inch POP or POP Ride - I think I've received an oversized POP at least twice with my subscription.

Here's a quick run-down of creating your PIAB account:

The first thing you'll want to do is set up your collection. This is an important step to ensure that you don't receive a duplicate POP or a POP that you may not care about.

piab-1

You can cycle through POPs and selection options for each one. Mark 'Add to my Collection' for POPs you have and avoid duplicates. Give POPs a thumbs down to let PIAB know that you don't want it, and mark it as thumbs up to let them know that you're really interested in that specific POP.

piab-2

There are a TON of POPs to go through. I haven't even gone through all of them, but in the end, you'll have built your own collection! This will help you keep track of what you have, and it will help PIAB know what to send.

They also no offer subscription options for Marvel, DC, Disney, Dorbz, and Rock Candy - find out all the details here!

Ryuk

My first POP comes from the anime, Death Note, and features the main antagonist, Ryuk.

I'm not an anime fan, but I did watch this movie on Netflix. I'm sure the fans will tell me that the Netflix version doesn't do it any justice, and I get that, but I did enjoy the short-form story - so I have a little knowledge of Ryuk!

Donatello

I'm still a big fan of the turtles. Ever since I was a child! I just can't shake my fandom - and their new IDW comic line is still a blast, even almost 70 issues in - so I'm excited to bet Donnie!

I actually own these POPs, but have them out of the box - so I gave them a thumbs up on PIAB in hopes to get my in-the-box collection sorted out.

Pennywise

I already own the Tim Curry version of Pennywise, and somehow this is my first POP from the new IT movie!

The chase variants of Pennywise are really something. I pretty much need to get them. I just love seeing Funko get to so many different fandoms!

Prison Break Rick

Season 3 of Rick and Morty starts with a great escape for Rick, and this POP captures it.

If you're displaying these out of the box, do not miss the little clear plastic stand in the packaging - they are super vital and you can't buy replacements the last I have checked!

Naturally, there are TONS of Rick and Morty POPs out there, and many many more to come.

Groot

With my level of excitement for this movie's release, I'm extra pumped to receive two POPs from Infinity War! The first is the teenage Groot.

The shocker from James Gunn that the original Groot actually died and that this is his son left me a bit shook. I can't lie. That is a tough one.

Groot is joined by what is sure to be a MASSIVE lineup!

Thor

The part I'm most excited for might be Thor's interactions with the Guardians of the Galaxy - how fun is that going to be?! Anyways, here is the post-Ragnarok Thor.

What kind of weapon is he holding? Could that be a piece of Groot for the handle...

Verdict: The more you sign up to receive, the more savings you'll get - so I think that really makes this subscription most beneficial to the collectors looking to complete full lines. If you're that collector, like me, then you'll have fun keep your list up-to-date and unboxing POPs each month. This might have been my favorite selection of POPs yet from both a franchise and timing perspective!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? There are no monthly themes and the POPs are a mystery, so your box will be different than what I receive. Your subscription also starts at the time of order.

Hi. Do you ever receive Chase versions through this sub box? Thanks!

I got 2 chase variants just last month. It’s random, and not often, but it has happened.
