The Believer's Box April 2018 Review
Enclosed in this month's box is an info card with detailed descriptions of the products with their prices, coupon codes, and scriptures to accompany some of the items. This month's theme is Grow in Faith. For every box shipped, The Believer’s Box donates five meals to the Christian charity foodforthepoor.org.
Butterfly Faith Bracelet - Estimated Value $9.99
This dainty silver chain bracelet with a butterfly in the center with faith inscribed on the front is a lovely symbol and reminder for me to have faith in all things, especially Christ. Unfortunately, the bracelet was too small and didn’t fit my wrist which was a disappointment. I didn’t find the bracelet on the website, so the price is an estimated guess from what I saw on their website.
Faith Necklace - Retail Value $10.00 (found here for $3.09. Currently out of stock.)
This necklace has a circular disc with “faith” inscribed on the front with a 16” brown cord with a 3” extender. I would have preferred to have the necklace and bracelet come as a set, but it’s nice to have a variety of styles with the jewelry in this month’s box, and it represents their theme. I’m not big on cord necklaces; I prefer chain necklaces in silver or gold. The brass alloy and gold plate of the circular disc seem to fit well with the cord necklace.
Notebook - Estimated Value $2.99
I love taking notes and jotting down my thoughts or to-do-list, so this pocket size notebook is perfect. The front of the notebook has the scripture Song of Songs 2:12NIV, “Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come…” and on each lined sheet towards the bottom has the scripture Psalm 103:5, “The Lord fills my life with good things.”
Bird Seed Cross - Retail Value $3.95
Clever design to have the bird seeds in the shape of the cross, unfortunately, my bird seed arrived crumbled, and only the upper portion of the cross was intact. The initial purpose is to use them as party favors, table decorations or hang from a branch of a tree as added décor to your party.
Garden Gift Set - Retail Value $3.95
This garden gift set is a cute idea and perfect as party favors. The kit came in a small brown box with a pink ribbon on top with “Grow in Faith” on the front of the box and included in the kit, a small pot, soil disc pellet, plantable cross, and instructions. Here’s more info on the flower seed paper found here.
I’m supposed to soak the plantable cross in water for twelve hours, next add water to the soil disc which will cause it to expand and fill the flower pot. Next place the cross on top of the soil pellet, covering it with 1/8” of soil. Finally, place the flower pot in a warm, sunny location and water daily. If I read it and transcribe on here correctly, I will need soil to finish this project, which I will need to go and find. It seems odd that there is no soil since this it’s a small pot and not everyone is a gardener I guess I need to get some soil or go dig up some dirt from the front area of my apartment. Let me know if I missed something in the translation of the instructions.
Honey Sticks - Retail Value $2.00
These all natural honey sticks came in orange blossom; there’s a variety of flavors on their website. I pinched the corners to open and enjoy. The honey had hints of orange flavor and wasn’t too sweet. A great portable snack for on the go. I usually don’t eat honey, I add to my tea or hot cereal, but these honey sticks were tasty and had me rethinking how I eat my honey.
5x7 Print-The Believer’s Box - Estimated Value $7.00
This 5x7 print has “Grow in Faith” written on the front. Each month subscribers will receive an inspirational print to frame or to pass on to someone who needs the encouragement. I got the price from what was listed on the info card last time I reviewed this box.
Scripture Cards - Estimated Value $1.00
Enclosed this month are two cards one to keep for myself and one to pass on to a friend. The card says, “bloom where you're planted.” The price is from what was listed on the info card when I reviewed the box last year.
Verdict: The Believer’s Box was fun, encouraging box to review and not your standard print card and scripture cards that I have found enclosed in most Christian lifestyle boxes. This box screams Spring/Easter vibes, and the theme “Faith” intertwines throughout the box. I was disappointed that the bird seed cross came in pieces, and the faith butterfly bracelet didn’t fit, but the necklace, yummy honey sticks, and notebook made up for my disappointment. The box delivers on sending hand-picked jewelry or their designs as well as other items to celebrate subscribers Christian lifestyles.
This month's value totals $40.88, but I felt like there needed to be a “hero” item, included. The products were appropriate for the theme of the box, but there seemed to be missing something, not sure what. Overall this was an enjoyable box that matched its theme. If you love wearing hand-crafted jewelry, then check out this box.
