WOWBOX Kawaii & Beauty March 2018 Review
The Large Kawaii & Beauty WOWBOX usually contains 10-14 items. There are 8 snacks and 2 beauty products this month.
RICE STYLE Olive Pepper Chips
Ooooh- I love these right out of the gate. They're like a cross between a rice cake and a tortilla chip! They're super duper salty and kinda light and airy. I love olives and pepper, so these are a great savory snack.
Kaju Gummy Torokeru Futatsu No Kajitsu (Orange & Lemon) Gummy Fruits
Jumping over to the sweet side, we have these tasty little 100% fruit juice citrus gummies that are coated in sugar and filled with gooey jelly. These go down really easy and give my mouth just enough pucker!
GABA Mental Balance Chocolates
These niblets of milk chocolate contain an acid that supposedly calms your nervous system, hence the "mental balance". I am all for tasty treats that chill me out, so these will not last long. They're in a resealable pouch, but let's be real, I need all the calm I can get, especially in creamy choco form.
Goji Berry To Quinoa No Almond Crunch
Wow- these are really unique. They're hard fruity candies that have chunks of kinua puffs and almond, so as you suck on the refreshing fruit taste, you get vitamin c, a, and a dose of fiber. Such a strange texture that I am hooked on.
Toku No Milk 8.2 Hourensou Milk
A similar style of candy to the previous one, these are a lot less fruity and a lot milkier. Plus, this is a new healthy spinach flavor with green apple filling in the center, which is probably one of the wildest combos. Don't be afraid though, even though it does taste a bit like spinach, it's rather good! Who knew candies could be so healthy?
Hitokuchi Smoothie Gummy
More healthy snacks come in the form of this smoothie gummy stick that contains carrot, mango, and banana. The banana is the most prominent, and it's really interesting to taste these flavors in a soft candy like this. Bonus- they even look like a healthy carrot stick!
Pooh San Ichigo Choco Marshmallow
Meh- I don't think I care for fruity marshmallows. My main vehicle for marshmallow intake is through s'mores and I don't think I want chocolatey strawberry innards ruining that classic flavor for me.
Osatsu Potato Snack
Oh yissss, I am a potato chip fiend, so I'm stoked to get these puffed potato snacks that are super light and airy with a bit of sweetness since they are made from sweet potatoes. I definitely would like these more if they were less sweet and more salty, but the consistency is really fun.
Ukiyoe Series Essence Mask Tsubaki Oil + Matcha
Whoa- I've never come across a mask feeling this oily before. In the past, I would have steered clear, but since I've forayed into the worl of facial oil, I'm not scared. This was super gloopy, and I was expecting it to have some design ON the mask, judging from the description "You'll feel like a piece of art -- specifically, an ancient piece of Japanese art -- after you use these ukiyoe-themed face packs.", but alas, it was just a soft white cotton sheet mask, sans decoration. My skin felt extremely moisturized after this one. Thumbs up!
Hello Kitty Lip Cream Sakura
This Hello Kitty lip balm is cute, but I didn't find it particularly exciting. No scent, and just kind of waxy. They nailed the Sakura seasonality though!
Verdict: This month's WOWBOX sent me eight unique Japanese snacks and two beauty products for $34.99. I thoroughly enjoyed almost all of the snacks and was surprised by how good the mask was. It's nice to see this "healthier" side of what this box can offer with the fruit snacks and tasty hard candies with hidden fruits, nuts, and veggies.
