BohoBabe Welcome Box Feather Decoration

BohoBabe Welcome Box Leather Headwrap

BohoBabe Vegan Leather Feather Headwrap — Listed Value $28.00

When I opened my box, I saw a whole lot of feathers jumping out at me. Exciting! I use all sorts of feathers throughout my house as decorations—some found out on walks and hikes, others from various items meant to be used as decor or worn as jewelry. This braided headwrap is made with vegan faux suede strands accented with beads and cruelty-free feathers (so, they're more like craft store feathers—not from real birds). I can't see myself wearing it as a headwrap—my current thinking is that I'll drape it over a mirror or picture frame hanging in my home!

BohoBabe Welcome Box Tea

BohoBabe Welcome Box Blossoming Tea

BohoBabe Welcome Box Tea Buds BohoBabe Welcome Box Pinky Up Lavender Tea

BohoBabe Welcome Box Flowering Tea

PinkyUp Lavender Sorbet Flowering Green Tea — Retail Value $9.99

Have you ever seen tea like this before? Is it not the coolest thing? I snapped shots of this tea about 2 minutes into its brewing process, and in the few minutes to follow, the flower blossomed even wider and the tea steeped to a darker color. Flavor-wise, it had the earthiness that's true of green tea and quite honestly not much lavender or lily flavoring that I was able to detect. I'm currently trying to avoid caffeine, so I only had a few sips, but anyway, this might be a tea I safe for cooler weather because of how heavy its flavor felt to me.

BohoBabe Welcome Box Dreamcatcher BohoBabe Welcome Box Dream Catcher

BohoBabe Feather Dreamcatcher — Listed Value $18.00

This dreamcatcher is so beautiful with its pops of dark blue hanging alongside neutral grey and taupe tones throughout. It's petite and adorably decorated with little seashells and carved beads. It would look beautiful behind breezy curtain sheers with the sun streaming through the window!

BohoBabe Welcome Box Leather Notebook BohoBabe Welcome Box Notebook

BohoBabe Vegan Leather Traveler's Notebook — Listed Value $22.00

I am such a sucker for thoughtfully bound notebooks, and leather or faux-leather ones like this teal one make such wonderful keepsakes. For example, I recently dedicated a leather-bound notebook to "miles traversed" on foot with my husband, in which we have begun recording the details of our backpacking trips taken together. It will be so nice to look back on those notes in the well-worn notebook years down the line. Two features of this particular notebook that I love are the knotted detail and metal leaf charm that keep it fastened when closed (some notebooks have tricky tying mechanisms, but this one is nice and simple) and the binder-style rings on the inside. Since the notebook is a little bulky but isn't very big, I can definitely see myself removing the pages to write in them, then inserting them back in for safekeeping. Just lovely!

BohoBabe Welcome Box Compass Necklace

BohoBabe Welcome Box Pendant Necklace

BohoBabe Not All Who Wander Are Lost Necklace — Listed Value $26.00

I love the three metallic tones on this necklace's pendant. I'm also into the compass charm—it offers a very adventurous vibe! As for the "not all who wander are lost" quote, as much as I truly identify with the Tolkien line, I don't know that I'd wear it as part of an outfit. It feels a little overdone to me at this point. Perhaps I'll hang this necklace from my mirror, or maybe I'll save it as a gift for my younger cousin!

BohoBabe Welcome Box Feather

PaperLoveBugs Cruelty-Free Gold-Dipped Feather — Listed Value $1.00 (Buy 15 for $17.00)

I believe that a gold-dipped feather is a BohoBabe staple that subscribers can expect to receive in every box. I have been subscribed to BohoBabe for 2 months and I was sent a gold-dipped yellow feather in both of those boxes, too! I stuck the first one upright in the soil of a succulent that sits my windowsill for a fun little decoration, and I used the second one as decoration in the wrapping of the Mother's Day gift I sent to a friend. I'm not sure how I'll use this one—maybe I'll make an earring out of it!

The Verdict: Since I'm receiving BohoBabe's Welcome Box to review after having been subscribed for a couple of months, this wasn't my first exposure to the subscription. But, I'd say it's a pretty accurate welcome in that its contents are a good representation of the types of boho gifts one can expect to receive on a monthly basis. Another observation about the Welcome Box that has a likeness to other BohoBabe boxes I've received is that most of the products are from BohoBabe's own online shop (which seems to be down for maintenance at the moment), while one or two are sourced from other small businesses. Using a combination of listed values and the one retail value that was available, I calculated the contents of this box to add up to $104.99. I'll admit that a few of the items seemed a touch overpriced to me, but that's still an awesome value for $46.99 ($39.99 a month plus $7.00 shipping).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, if this is your first BohoBabe order!

Value Breakdown: I paid $39.99 + $7.00 shipping for my BohoBabe box, and inside of it came 5 items, not including the feather. That breaks down to approximately $9.40 per item.

That notebook can be bought on amazon for $7.99 and probably less on wholesale sites. https://www.amazon.com/Vintage-Leather-Cover-Notebook-Journal/dp/B00XHKJSBW

There are similar necklaces in aliexpress for 96 cent.

Pretty sure the dream catcher is worth $1 and I recognized the notebook because I reviewed it for free years ago

That is….a lot of feathers for one box.

What a dumb box. Feathers? A dream catcher and ugly hear band? Not ALL boho is feathers, dream catchers and well….feathers.

Jennifer

Craft store feathers are real feathers collected inhumanly. You can buy cruelty free feathers from people though that collect them when the birds molt.

I’m curious, but doesn’t it look like the necklace says “not all THOSE who wander are lost”?

Reply ButtonReply

Christen Russo

You’re right, Cina! That was a typo on my part. It does say, “not all those who wander are lost.” 🙂

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there’s no such thing as faux feathers. Even craft store feathers come from birds, the only thing I can think they mean is they are picked up from birds shedding feathers in farm situations. But yes, definitely not vegan.
I agree with a prior commenter about the dreamcatcher… that’s unfortunately exactly the sort of questionable choice I’d expect from a box calling itself Bohemian.

Emily

If its got feathers, it ain’t vegan. And if that dreamcatcher isn’t sourced from a Native American artist, I’m giving this box some real hard side eye.

Christen Russo

Hey Emily! The feathers seem to me like they’re made out of some sort of synthetic material, but I’ve reached out to their customer service team to confirm.

As for the dreamcatcher, I’m totally on your team. I had that exact thought when I pulled it out of the box. I inquired about the source of that, as well, and will report back.

Thank you for reading and contributing your thoughts!
