Green Piñata May 2018 Review
Babyganics Pure Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 + Coupon - Buy a 4 oz. bottle here for $9.99
This month's box came with a sample-size sunscreen from Babyganics along with a coupon for $1.00 off. I have never tried this brand before, but I am happy to see that I can test it before deciding if I want to use the coupon. I took a look at some reviews online and it looks like it is great for sensitive skin. My son is very fair so I am always reapplying to prevent any sort of burn since we are outside most days.
My son, Fox is 2-years-old and very active. Let's see what toys this month's Green Piñata brought:
Hape Choo Choo Tracks Bead Maze - Retail Value $14.99 (found here for $12.98)
Our local library has a few of these little bead maze boards and my son always loves them! This is a great toy to take with you on the go if you are going out to eat at a restaurant or even something for them to play within the car. The goal is really to just move the beads through the train maze so your little one might need some assistance or overall guidance at first. Once they get the hang of it, though, this is great for hand-eye coordination. I always like to ask which color bead he is using as well.
Hape Homemade Pizza - Retail Value $18.35
My son is currently obsessed with play food sets so I knew this was going to be a hit! There is this song called "Funny Fun Pizza" that I always sing to him so we got a kick out of singing that while playing with this set. I like toys like this because it really allows their imagination to run wild, they are building and creating with their hands. I like to count the pizza toppings with my son and go over the names of each piece of food as well, which really helps during mealtime too because it makes him feel more involved and aware with what he is eating or what I am cooking. I was sort of surprised with the retail value I found online because this toy set is very high quality in my opinion, so much so that I would honestly pay more for this if I had to!
Plan Toys Doctor Set - Retail Value $30 (found here for $27)
My son got a plastic doctor set for Easter that he loves playing with, but this wooden set is so much nicer and high quality! This is another toy that really helps with imaginative play while allowing you to take through different tools that the doctor uses (always good to help ease your little one's mind when you can about the doctor). I love that this set comes with its own doctor bag as well which makes this great to take with you or to store away safely at the end of the day.
Plan Toys Build-A-Robot - Retail Value $29.99 (found here for $25.79)
Ever since a visit to our local Science Center my son has been obsessed with robots. This toy allows your little one to work with their hands by building the robot. Building and screwing the parts together can be a bit tricky so some guidance will most likely be needed. We started by counting the parts and identifying arms, legs, etc. Then we let Fox pick which face he wanted to use. There is angry, happy, surprised, and sad. Fox was a little grumpy that day so he fittingly picked the angry face. Look at how cool our robot turned out!
Here we are listening to Thor's heartbeat!
Verdict: Green Piñata is so much fun, especially now that we are able to get the 2 to 3-year-old toys which seem to be so much fun for my son to play with! This month's curation was amazing with so many quality pieces at great prices. We are honestly considering keeping at least two of the toys this month because Fox loves them all so much. Not only is super helpful to receive a fresh batch of toys each month, but I love reading through the toy profile to see how it helps your little one grow and new ways that you can interact with your toy and child (like counting colors or sorting the food). I have even recommended this to some of my Mommy friends because you can't beat the joy on your little one's face when each month's box arrives!
To Wrap Up:
Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each box is customized to your child's age, so you might not get this exact box. You can order today to get a May box!
