4Me Herbs & Oil Box April 2018 Review

These little notes were included in my package.

Essential Oil Recipes

Essential Oil Recipes

This page of essential oil recipes was also included. This is a really cool idea! I think it would be an even better idea if at least some of the essential oils needed for the recipes were included. It does at least give some information on where to get these essential oils at the bottom of the page.

Calendula Infused in Olive Oil, 2 ounces

Calendula Infused in Olive Oil, 2 ounces

Calendula has a very mild fragrance, whereas olive oil as a carrier has a distinct fragrance itself. I found that in this blend, the olive oil fragrance overwhelmed the calendula. It is not an unpleasant fragrance, just a bit neutral. Calendula is great for skin problems, as is olive oil, so I think this blend is a really good idea!

Lavender & Cedarwood Blend in Olive Oil, 10 ml

Lavender & Cedarwood Blend in Olive Oil, 10 ml

Lavender and cedarwood, as opposed to calendula, both have good strong fragrances that are not much affected by the carrier oil, olive. I love the combination! I love them separately, but this is a great blend of the calming floral scent of lavender and the deep woody smell of cedarwood. This is a roll-on oil.

Reed Diffuser

What a wonderful inclusion in an essential oil box! I put about a half an ounce of the calendula in the diffuser with a few drops of pure lavender essential oil (not included in this box), and my bedroom has become a sleep oasis! This diffuser works really well, and I like its simple, classic design.

Personal Inhaler, "Immune Boost"

Personal Inhaler, "Immune Boost"

This is the second or third time I have received a personal inhaler like this in a subscription box, and they're kind of a neat concept. You just throw them in your purse, and any time you need a bit of aromatherapy, you just take off the top and wave the wand under your nose for a burst of fragrance. It's nice! This one has a bit of a citrussy-mint fragrance, as you might expect with the name "Immune Boost." I like it!

Cannabis Sativa Hemp Pain Salve, 2 ounces

Cannabis Sativa Hemp Pain Salve, 2 ounces

Arnica is a classic ingredient in muscle relief salves, as is eucalyptus, so although I have not incurred any wounds or muscle pain since I received this salve, I imagine this salve would provide excellent relief. The top fragrances that stand out in this salve are lavender and rosemary, which is a combination I just love! I cannot speak to whether or not it smells like cannabis. On an unrelated note, I would like to say hello to my mother, a frequent reader of my MSA articles.

Eucalyptus Bath Salts

Eucalyptus Bath Salts

These bath salts are excellent! Eucalyptus is so good for muscle relief, and Epsom Salt is like muscle magic due to its high magnesium content. I did sample these when I was having some cramping, and the bath totally did the trick! Plus I really like the smell of eucalyptus.

The Verdict: This was my first box from Depravi Teas since they changed their format to the Herb & Oil Box, and I really liked it! I liked everything I received and have already put almost everything to good use. I do think there are opportunities for improvement, such as including some of the oils needed for the recipes in the box itself and using a different carrier oil for milder fragrances, but overall I think this is a great idea for a subscription box. I also think getting all of these items for just $30 is a great value!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, you will receive the June box. From Depravi Teas:

We ship near the 4th of every month. Order by the end of the month to get the next month's box. (For example: Order by May 31st to get the June box)

Coupon - Use code MSA60 to save 60% off your first Herb & Oil box! (does not apply to Mini and Maxi boxes)

Value Breakdown: I received a total of six items for $30 shipped. That averages $5 per item.

MSA15 is the only code working at the moment. They have the Blend Box (which code won’t work on), the regular Herb and Oil (code works on) and the Maxi sized box (that the code does work on).

They’ve also started using either grapeseed or coconut oil for their base oil instead of the ultra refined olive oil. I saw in my last box that they’ve received additional certification from NAHA as well and are a Level 2 Certified Professional Aromatherapist.

The July Box and the spoiler for August looks GREAT! (Got that as a sneak peek in my last box)

Just wanted to update on a working coupon!!

ADMIN — Maybe change it??

Does anyone know if they only use olive oil as the carrier oil? Not really interested in smelling like a salad.

I have never seen olive oil used as a carrier oil. I can imagine all you would smell is olive oil, plus there are oils like jojoba and fractionated coconut oil that have longer shelf lives.

With that 60% off coupon to try it I’m in! I love exploring new to me essential oils and the many ways to use them and this sub seems to utilize that. My concern is that they used the olive oil with the calendula and that seems like something they should have known and the fact that they didn’t or did and mixed them anyways kindof makes me nevous! I sure wouldn’t want to spend 30$ a month for misses!!
