April 2018 Loot Crate DX Artifacts Review
The April 2018 Loot Crate DX "Artifacts" features items from God of War, The Avengers, Masters of the Universe, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Dungeons & Dragons.
It comes with a fold-out information card that details the items in your box.
The back also shows off the Mega Crate items. I may just have to get that 1/4 scale NECA Kratos...
Vampyr Book Pin - Value $10?
This month's pin takes us back to Buffy with her Slayer Handbook!
Dungeons & Dragons "Lich" Hoodie - Value $20?
This is based on the 1977 the drawing of the 'Lich' in the first edition of the D&D Moster Manual.
I thought the artwork itself is just cool. Of course, it's a fun little play on 99 Problems as well.
The hoodie itself is more of a thinner t-shirt hoodie - which is perfect for the warmer weather, though I pretty much never wear long sleeves after it starts hitting 60 degrees.
Kratos' Shield Replica - Value $15-20?
This is my favorite item in the box - and partially because I'm still playing through the latest God of War!
It's a simple two-piece item.
It's a 5-inch replica that displays nicely in its stone holster. They even designed this with the original CG models for accuracy - very cool.
I wonder if we'll see another item just like this in the God of War crate.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Production Pencil Drawings - Value ??
This is something super-rare for Loot Crate in their box - a one-of-a-kind pencil production drawing for one of the best animated shows of the 80's!
Each one is different - so it's completely unique to you!
You'll get a certificate of authenticity with it as well - which is always very important with items like this.
The Avengers: The Essential Guide Book - Value $10-15?
This is a Loot Crate edition of DK Books' guide to the Avengers.
I've always enjoyed books like this one for coffee table reading. It's also nicely timed with Infinity War!
Verdict: I liked this delivery a bit more than I thought I would - and it was much better in person than seeing the spoilers. The pencil drawing is something unique and of super high value for fans - but I wonder if non-fans will think they've lost some value there - but, I guess that's always the case with a geek box! Overall, I thought this was one of their better recent boxes.
