Here's the info card for the pack.

penny + grace ring

penny + grace twist ring

Rope Twist Stacking Ring - Listed Value $10.95

This size 6 ring is the first item that I've felt is just a bit too simple for me. It's pretty simple to this one that I got back in January. It feels... light to me, though it's not particularly fragile or anything. I think it'll look best stacked with other more statement-making rings. Or it could be worn alone when I'm just wanting the tiniest bit of shine.

penny + grace starfish bracelet

penny + grace starfish gold bracelet

Starfish Bracelet - Listed Value $24.00

I'm not much of a nautical fan. I'm not vehemently against it or anything, but it's just never been much my style. (Maybe I didn't spend enough time on the ocean as a kid, haha!) Long story short, I'm not super excited by the starfish motif. That said, the design is really simple and sleek, so it's probably the most me version of nautical jewelry that I'm likely to find, hehe. The bracelet is around 8" long and easy breezy to wear, given its delicate chain and featherlight charm.

penny + grace nautical necklace

penny + grace nautical anchor necklace

Mast + Anchor Lariat Necklace - Listed Value $28.00

This necklace is a lariat style that's similar to the one I got in the February box. The anchor end of the almost 18" long chain threads through the wheel charm, so you can adjust the way it hangs and how short the necklace is on your neckline. Again, the nautical thing isn't quite me, but this necklace is so cute and unique that I might hang on to it and give it as a gift to someone who does like this aesthetic.

Here's what the bracelet and ring look like on.

And here's what the necklace looks like at its very longest.

The Verdict: This box wasn't quite my taste as much as previous ones were, but I can still appreciate the quality and creativity of the items included in the box. But for the ring, the pieces feel unique and modern. They kind of refresh the idea of nautical style, which can seem a little dated to me. These pieces were fresh and fun and great quality for the price point!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but sign up for their next available pack now! Here's what Penny + Grace says on their site about timing:

Value Breakdown: The box was $19.99, and the estimated value of the featured items inside is $62.95. That means that, proportionally, I paid the following for each item:

  • Ring: $3.48
  • Anchor Necklace: $8.89
  • Starfish Bracelet $7.62

I know the ring is similar to the simple ring we received in January, but I love how this gold ring is like a “rope” to match the nautical theme! 🙂

Also regarding the pins, I noticed they recently commented on their Instagram: “No bonus pin this month – we’re making some changes, but don’t worry they’ll be back along with some new cool stuff! 😍”

I just cancelled after a year with this sub. I have selected to receive a variety of metals but in the entire year I only received silver once. When I inquired, they told me that it’s totally random and nothing can be done to ensure a better distribution. Also, they have switched to chains that have two different rings to connect (versus a more adjustable 2 inches of chain that you could connect to anywhere). I find it much harder to attach the bracelets and necklaces when you have to hit the hole exactly. So, while I have enjoyed this sub, I am going to take a break and see if they resolve some of these issues. Plus, I miss the little enamel pins each month!!! They were so fun!

I’m also mourning the enamel pins!!! It seems like they’ve switched to a more “sophisticated” aesthetic. Where I used to get quirky pins and necklaces with cute charms (camera shapes, paper crane shapes, etc.), I now see sleeker charms and abstract shapes. The change about the links in the back is interesting, too. It’s a little more limiting for sure. Thanks for sharing your take, Cas! These might seem like subtle little changes, but they feel big if you’re used to the old Penny + Grace!

Glad I passed! Great review. My silver jewelry from them has tarnished so I am taking a break from them.

I got the same set in silver. I was surprised by the starfish bracelet; when they spoiled it earlier in the month I was expecting it as a necklace. To me, the lariat necklace comes off as kind of a cheaper looking piece. However, I love the ring, and whenever I’ve worn my similar ring in gold, it gets complimented a lot.

Will I receive this box if I subscribe now? I love the nautical theme!

Lisa’s right, Corrine – I think they’re on to the next month’s pack. However! They do sometimes list past styles on their “boutique”. Keep an eye out and maybe you’ll see some of the items there in the future: https://www.pennyandgrace.com/collections/boutique

Thanks ladies for letting me know (really hope they find a replacement for you, Lisa!).

Lisa

Probably not.

My envelope arrived a few days ago…..empty. It was not sealed properly and the contents were lost. I contacted customer service and they said it’s sold out although they are supposed to be looking for a replacement for me.

I hope they are successful.
