April 2018 Pittsburgh Penguins Fanchest Review

It's that time of year again for us Penguins fans. The sun is shining and we're still playing hockey! It's, once again, round 2 against the Caps - and to celebrate, we have a new Penguins Fanchest for review!

It comes with a card that gives some background on Fanchest - this is nice if you're gifting it.

You also have a chance at a Golden Ticket contest - I scored 10% off merchandise.

And finally, a handwritten welcome note. It's a nice touch.

Penguins '47 Brand Shirt - Value $20-30

The first item in the box is a brand new '47 brand team shirt. This is just the basic logo and can vary in price from online to local stores to in the arena!

I'm a major fan of the '47 brand for my teams - both Liverpool and the Pens - so I'm excited to see this in the box. The shirts have a little more of an athletic fan, but they're also very comfortable.

Penguins Flag - Value $20-30?

The second item is a 3' x 5' flag.

Celebrate the 5 championships with this flag - and bring a little good luck to this year's playoff run-in.

It's your basic flag - it's good quality and does feel like it should hold up to the elements.

Pens Koozie - Value $5?

You'll get this double-sided Penguins koozie. The only thing that bugs me about it is that no one says "Go Pens Go", but I'll let it go.

Penguins Coin - Value $20 based on an older version

You'll get a commemorative coin to celebrate the franchise.

Each minted coin is limited to 5,000.

Penguins Car Decal - Value $4

Finally, you'll get this multi-use decal to pop on your car or window.

Verdict: They promise an $80+ value for the $64.99 (shipping included) price tag - and they've hit that promised value with this box. This feels like a good option for fans living outside of their team's city - and this box did feature a good mixture of basics for Stanley Cup Playoffs season for the Penguins.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes. The Penguins Fanchest VII is still available for purchase while supplies last.

Thanks for the review, even from this Caps season ticket holder! 😉

I’ve been wanting to get the Caps box, but as a lifelong fan, I’ve already accumulated many similar items (I have enough t-shirts to clothe an entire team, LOL), so it looks like this probably isn’t for me.

But agree it would make a great gift for someone out of town, or a new fan, or kid!

Congrats to you all. I was at our game 6 loss to you all, and while it’s always a let down to lose, it was pretty fun seeing how overjoyed your fans were. We’re still rivals, though 🙂

I might consider a Bruins box if they had one.

Good luck with Washington…hope to see you next round.

They do have a Bruins box!

This box does not look like it’s catering to fans. The items which were included are something that most of the fans own anyway, so it makes them neither unique no exclusive. Not worth the $$.
