TokyoTreat April 2018 Review
I really enjoy the detailed booklet that accompanies this subscription box. Great descriptions of each item as well as other ways to enjoy the treats!
Calbee Plum Seaweed Chips
These chips were actually my favorite thing in the box. They are a really unique flavor and are sweet with just a hint of salty seaweed. The packaging is also a special collaboration with Kyoto based textile brand SOU SOU. I need more of these!
Healthy Snacking Squishy Lemon Gummies
I really enjoyed these little lemon gummies. They are packed with fiber and protein, so it’s not just your typical gummie candy. They are supposed to help you feel full to ward off overeating.
Umaiwa Cheese
These were really fun. Think corn curls. The very rich cheese flavor was a lot stronger than I would've expected.
Caramel Corn Share Pack
These buttery caramel puffed corn snacks made me think of a carnival or fair. There are 4 packs to share with friends!
Umaibo Teriyaki Burger
What’s not to love about a flavor called “teriyaki burger”? Not sure how they make these both fluffy and crunchy at the same time!
Pakkuncho Disney Custard Pudding Biscuits
Little, fun, crunchy, and sweet. That’s how I would describe these mini Disney branded snacks. You get a pack of three so go ahead and share!
Kyoro-Chan’s Custard Pudding Snack
These are called a pudding snack, but they tasted a lot like a typical malt ball to me. I liked the fun egg shapes and the packaging.
Don Tacos Grilled Corn Flavor
Wow. These were insane! I don’t know how they replicated the flavor, but it was just like eating a freshly cooked ear of buttery corn on the cob. I really enjoyed these.
Choco Banana DIY Kit
This was a fun little DIY candy kit. The “bananas” were very similar to circus peanut candies. Dip it, roll it, eat it!
Verdict: TokyoTreat's Japanese packaging is always so fun and exciting, and the included booklet is always in depth. The two chips included this month, Don Tacos and Calbee were outstanding. There wasn’t anything included that I didn't like, so this month was a win all around!
To Wrap Up:
Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, you will get the June box.
