Here's the info card for the subscription.

They also throw in a retro matchbook in each pack!

It's no secret that I love my Divine Trash Vintage subscription! I've spent the past year or more wearing mostly black, white, gray, and denim, but this subscription's quirky finds have been reawakening my love for out of the ordinary vintage goodies. When you sign up, you'll get to note things like sizing, height, weight, and gender identity, and get to leave any notes you'd like about your style or preferences. They also have a cool little widget where you're shown laydowns (like Polyvore boards) of different styles of outfits, and you click to remove ones you dislike. It's really handy in defining exactly what my look is and isn't.

In my experience, you don't always get something that's the PERFECT match for your style. That might be because I noted my current understated, minimalist sense of style, which is admittedly a difficult niche to shop for when you're rifling through vintage pieces. I feel like if you said "I love mid-century style!" or "I'm super bright and out of the box!" you'd be thrilled by what they have to offer. As for me, the pieces they find are usually a bit outside what I'd reach for at a store at the mall, but weirdly enough, they're exactly the kinds of things I'd pick out for myself back in my hardcore thrifting days.

divine trash vintage note from curators

Each product comes with a little handwritten note from the gals that curate the subscription. I love this little personal touch.

divine trash vintage lace jacket

Pink Lace Jacket

How freakin' cute is this piece?! I thought it was going to be a dress at first, but it's actually an unlined lace jacket. Not a jacket for warmth, obviously—I almost want to call it an "accessory" rather than a piece of clothing, just because it serves the same "finishing touch" function that a necklace or a really great scarf might.

There's just one closure up at the collar of the piece. I wasn't sure whether the collar was supposed to be worn straight up and down or folded over. When it's standing up, the closure lays a little nicer. (When it's folded over, the closure feels like it's twisting in a way it doesn't want to go.) I like the collar both ways, but I think I'll stick with it standing straight up.

The look is unlined, so I just wore it over a really simple crew-neck t-shirt dress for this photo. I'm excited to try it with pale blue skinnies and a simple white tee (maybe with long sleeves?). I think high necklines will look best under it, but who knows... If you have any cute ideas, let me know in the comments!

The Verdict: This is such a cute piece for spring! I like that it works as a complement to the minimal aesthetic of my current wardrobe—it can turn a super casual look into something romantic, playful, and unique. I've also never seen an item like this one before, so I'm willing to pay a little extra for what feels like a rarer piece. One thing I look for in fashion subscriptions is the ability to curate pieces that don't feel special—I don't want to get items that I feel like I could find at my local department store, y'know? Divine Trash checks that box every time, but especially this month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You can definitely subscribe, but what you get will be super unique, both because it's vintage and because it's picked specifically for your tastes! According to Divine Trash, Trash Club packages will ship within a week of your charge.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $30.00 with free US shipping, meaning I spent $30.00 on this look.

Keep Track of Your Subscriptions: Add this box to your subscription list or wishlist!

It’s actually a Mandarin collar, which has a curved edge and stands straight up. Nehru collars are a sharp corner. I doubt this was a lingerie piece, because the collar is so stiff, but it almost certainly was an overpiece for a lace dress which has vanished in the sands of time.

That is the funniest info card I’ve ever seen. First I’ve heard of this subscription and I love it

I think that’s called a neru collar; popular in the 60’s, you wear it up. I think it could have been lingerie as suggested above, too. But if not, it probably had a dress that matched underneath. I think it translates very well to the modern realm. It’s a great color and fit on you!

Awesome! Thanks for the inside scoop, Alex!

Collar up! I think it would look good with a LBD (Little black dress)

Oh my gosh!! I had no idea such a garment existed. That is really lovely, and versatile too! Collar straight up is the way to go, I think. Reminds me a bit of the Japanese style collar, if that makes sense. You definitely rocked that!

Is there a brand label in this piece? It looks very much like a vintage lingerie piece by Odette Barsa. ( I used to collect vintage things similar to this and they were all very high end brands of lingerie).
So, I love peachy pink frilly things to death. :{

As for the collar, I’d leave it unfastened. I’d like the piece to be flowy.

Wow, I didn’t even THINK of it being lingerie, but I love that! So sassy 🙂 No tag that I can see. I love the color, too! I’m not even the biggest fan of lacy pieces, but this has really stolen my heart!

Thanks for the info, Mandy!
