TreatLuv for Cats April 2018 Review
This was my first box from TreatLuv, so I didn’t know what to expect:
The box didn’t include an information card, but there was a card with a fact about cats.
Feline Greenies Succulent Beef Flavor (2.5 oz) – Retail Value $3.99
These are supposed to help your cat maintain good dental care. These are little hard treats shaped like fish, but the cats don’t seem to have any trouble eating them. We’ve been using these to lure Sneaky into the bathroom for her asthma treatments.
Mr. Kitty wanted these but I didn’t let him have any. Everyone else was a fan. I particularly like the photo of Sneaky this time.
Get Naked Furball Relief, Chicken Flavor (2.5 oz) – Retail Value $3.99 (found here for $3.69)
These are soft (semi-moist) treats in little heart shapes. They are grain free but have fiber, which is supposed to help hairballs pass through the digestive tract. Monkey is my biggest hairball problem cat, but he usually won’t eat more than one treat at a time (if that – hey, he’s weird) so I’m not sure I can assess the effectiveness of these. But they were well-received by my cats as just treats, anyway.
These were pretty popular with everyone who is allowed to eat them. Sneaky and Madison liked them the most.
Purebites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish (0.39 oz) – Retail Value $3.99 (found here for $2.49)
These are freeze-dried, single ingredient treats. My cats are not so interested in freeze-dried meat, but I did find one taker (see below). Sneaky will usually eat at least one of these, as well. These smell strongly of fish, which I guess is a good thing in this instance.
Mr. Kitty liked these. Unfortunately, he has since had a bad reaction to fish (I’ll spare you the details, but it required a trip to the vet) so he can’t finish them off. Sneaky will get the rest.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $11.97 for the April 2018 TreatLuv for cats. That is less than half the month-to-month cost of the subscription, so even if you consider paying shipping for separate purchases, I would want to see at least 2-3 more bags of treats, or a significant decrease in price, before I could recommend this on a value basis. My cats did like the treats and I found all the brands to be high quality, but you just can’t price cat and dog treat subscriptions the same because cat treats are usually way cheaper.
