Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett  - Retail Value $17.99

Book Summary from Amazon:

In this romantic dramedy from the author of Alex, Approximately, a teen girl’s way-too-ordinary life is driven off the beaten path when she’s abandoned in the wilderness with her worst adversary—the boy who broke her heart.

Ever since last year’s homecoming dance, best friends-turned-best enemies Zorie and Lennon have made an art of avoiding each other. It doesn’t hurt that their families are the modern day, Californian version of the Montagues and Capulets.

But when a group camping trip goes south, Zorie and Lennon find themselves stranded in the wilderness. Alone. Together.

What could go wrong?

With no one but each other for company, Zorie and Lennon have no choice but to hash out their issues via witty jabs and insults as they try to make their way to safety. But fighting each other while also fighting off the forces of nature makes getting out of the woods in one piece less and less likely.

And as the two travel deeper into Northern California’s rugged backcountry, secrets and hidden feelings surface. But can Zorie and Lennon’s rekindled connection survive out in the real world? Or was it just a result of the fresh forest air and the magic of the twinkling stars?

Every Uppercase book is signed by the author, too:

I found this book to be a quick, enjoyable read. (And that's coming from a person who has never camped or glamped in her life!) One *minor spoiler* complaint I have about this book (and this is usually my critique of the enemies-to-lovers trope in general), is that the two main characters are "enemies" due to a simple misunderstanding that could have been resolved instantly by just talking to each other. Instead, both parties assumed the worst of the other person (weird, since they were beyond BFFs before), didn't talk and became "enemies."

The book also came with a star chart:

And now for the additional bookish goodies:

Reading Achievement Enamel Pin - Estimated Value $10?

These pins are an Uppercase subscriber exclusive!

Reading Achievement Enamel Pin - Estimated Value $10?

Both are super cute, but I think this "Read Past My Bedtime" one is my favorite! I have definitely earned this badge!

Reading Journal by Uppercase - Estimated Value $8?

This journal includes a mix of illustrated pages, and journal entry pages:

This journal is adorable, but I personally prefer keeping track of things on GoodReads, so I'll be passing this along to a friend who I know will appreciate it!

Verdict: This box has an estimated value of about $46. I think the value is always there with this subscription - the book curation is very thoughtful, and it's great getting a signed book each month. Plus, the bookish goodies are always so dang cute!
