Wee Blessing March 2018 Kid's Clothing Review
I was so excited to get this shipment! I love shopping for my son’s clothes, but I was pumped to see what someone else would pick out for him and how well I could integrate these pieces into his wardrobe. He’s in the middle of a size and season transition (spring is finally here!), so we have some room cleared in his closet for fun new items. Upon opening the box, they have everything wrapped in tissue paper with a cute ‘Wee Blessing’ sticker with his name on it. For families with multiple orders, this is a nice feature! No need to waste time sorting clothes like it’s laundry day. They also include a sweet handwritten note, adding the perfect touch of personalization to a competitive online shopping market.
GapKids Navy Blue / Gray Fast Cars Long-Sleeved Tee (2T) - Retail Value $19.99 (Wee Blessing Price $10)
True Religion Black Wash Skinny Denim Jeans (2T) - Retail Value $48 (Wee Blessing Price $20)
My little buddy was so excited about this shirt! He absolutely loves cars and carries one with him nearly everywhere we go. This race car shirt is one of his favorite items - it even has a cute little flap on the window to keep him entertained. The back jean pockets have embellished stitching and a flap with button closure that sets these apart from the typical jeans for toddler boys. I love finding unique items to add to his wardrobe, but I don’t think I would pair these items together in the future. They’re both great pieces, just not together in my opinion.
Nautica Sky Blue / Navy Anchor 2-Piece Set (2T) - Retail Value $44 (Wee Blessing Price $21)
I found this next combination to be a perfect outfit for nearly any occasion – it’s cute, practical, and comfortable. The shorts are really nice, but they were a little too big for him. We typically buy bottoms that have the elastic adjuster on the inside of the waistband to help extend the length of time he can wear them. I love the anchor on the shirt, as well as the colors, but I’ll make sure to pack a bib to avoid stains on a white shirt.
7 For All Mankind Green / Navy Plaid Button-Down Shirt (2T) - Retail Value $32 (Wee Blessing Price $15)
Carter’s Olive Green Cargo Shorts (2T) - Retail Value $24 (Wee Blessing Price $12)
The plaid button-up shirt is really adorable and very well-made. His head is on the larger side of the spectrum, so we’re big fans of button ups. The shorts fit him perfectly and I love the cargo feature. As I mentioned before, little dude loves to bring cars with him everywhere and now he’ll have somewhere to put them that won’t hurt – who wants to sit on a little metal car? Not me! The colors are really nice and they will pair well with a number of other items to make multiple outfits. I think he’ll wear this outfit with a little backpack and boots on our next hiking trip. And now, I think he needs an explorer hat!
Gymboree Blue / Orange Plaid Button-Down Shirt (2T) - Retail Value $29.95 (Wee Blessing Price $15)
Tommy Hilfiger Navy Blue Flat-Front Pants (2T) - Retail Value $34.50 (Wee Blessing Price $16)
Orange is one of my favorite accent colors in kids clothing, so I was really excited when I pulled out this button up, collared shirt. The shirt itself was fairly long, but we were able to roll his sleeves and tuck in the shirt. He generally fits in most 2Ts, but it seems that these pants were very long on him as well. We cuffed the bottom of the pants, but I would add a belt or suspenders to help keep them up.
P.S. I can’t even get over his little pose in this photo, but I’m clearly a little biased!
Nickelodeon Paw Patrol 2-Piece Pajama Set (3T) - Retail Value $26 (Wee Blessing Price $12)
When I filled out the interests page for my son, in addition to a number of other questions, they asked which TV shows he was interested in. He absolutely loves Paw Patrol, so you can imagine how excited he was to find this PJ set in our shipment! In general, he’s a pretty sweaty sleeper, so I appreciated the short sleeve and pants combination. It’s definitely something he can wear throughout the year. My only qualm here is that it was sent in a size 3T, so the pants are too big for now, but the shirt will work! I’m happy to stash away the pants until they fit though. It’s always nice to have something waiting for when he transitions sizes next time around.
Lastly, it’s really difficult to get a two-year-old to sit still long enough to go through five outfit changes without really losing it. Here’s my little secret on how to make it through a mini (amateur) photoshoot and keep your little one happy: candy! Luckily, he gets really excited about even one Smarties candy, so we only went through one roll. Thankfully, the sugar high didn’t last too long!
The Verdict: We really love to dress him in a variety of styles, so when it comes time for him to choose his own clothes he’ll have a better understanding of what he likes and what he doesn’t. A common theme throughout this box is that the bottoms seemed to run a little big on him, but I attribute this to him transitioning sizes. Kids grow rapidly as infants and toddlers, so I’m sure we’ll get to wear some of the pants sooner than later. I really loved how this was curated. They did a fantastic job of incorporating his interests into a variety of styles and brands that we requested in his profile.
The retail value of all items is $258.44 but our price is $121, nearly a 53% discount… but that’s not all! If you choose to keep all of the items, you get an additional 10% discount which would bring the total to $108.90 + $8 shipping fee = $116.90. I don’t see how this subscription isn’t worth it. The quality of the items are excellent and the styling was on point. I think this is a perfect solution for any on-the-go parent.
