Yummy Bazaar World Sampler April 2018 Review
Every World Sampler Box also comes with this "Hello, World!" info sheet briefly describing the contents and where they hail from. This month includes treats from France, Spain, and Germany!
On the other half, they've listed their social media addresses.
Inside, you'll find descriptions of all the snacks included in the box, plus their country of origin and ingredients (if the ingredients on the package are not already in English.) This is super helpful for anyone who needs to know what goes into their food, and definitely a best practice for international food boxes
Rendez Vous French Pastilles, 1.25 oz. - Retail Value $2.95
These little sugar-free candies pack a bit of mentholated punch. More like a cough drop than a candy- these are still quite pleasant and have flavoring from violet essential oil and black licorice. While these taste pretty good at first, there is a bit of a strange aftertaste. The tin makes them easy to travel so you can pop them in your bag or car.
Ines Rosales Citrus Crumble Cake, 1.27 oz. - Buy a package of 6 for $5.95
Mmm- this messy little cake is worth every powdered sugar-coated crumbly bite. If you love citrus like I do, you'll enjoy the lemon and citron filling inside this flaky pastry. It only takes a few bites to consume this cake but it's just enough to satisfy me.
Chabert Guillot Mini French Soft Nougat, 1.05 oz. - Retail Value $1.35
Nougat rules, almonds rule, this soft chewy bar of both definitely rules. I thoroughly enjoy the mini size they've sent as it's easy to take down and doesn't make me eat more than I should. It's quite sweet and a really neat consistency with slivers of almond throughout.
Milka Nussini with Hazelnut Cream Filling, 1.1 oz. - Buy a 5.5 oz package for $4.95
I bow to thee, sweet Milka. Who doesn't like Alpine milk chocolate that coats crispy wafers that also have chunks of hazelnut throughout? SHOW THEM TO ME. And I will tell them how wrong they are! This is downright delicious.
Knorr German Dill Salad Dressing - Buy a box of 5 packets for $2.87
I haven't had the chance to make this yet, but I'm actually kinda stoked. I love dill and making salad dressing is something I've been meaning to do instead of buying it from the store. All this needs is water + olive oil and it's good to go on a salad. That being said, it seems like this would be a single serving packet.
Brioche Pasquier Authentic French Croissants, 2 ct - Buy a pack of 6 for $4.35
I love a good croissant and these are apparently from France's #1 brioche bakery. They stayed really soft and moist in transit and are so buttery that I don't think they need jam or anything else added. Mmmm- so good!
Verdict: Yummy Bazaar World Sampler Box sent six items this month from three different countries to get us more cultured! I liked everything I ate and am pumped to try the dill salad dressing soon. My only qualm is that the info sheet listed four of the items as being full size but then gave the cost for the larger size that they are sold by. Otherwise, this is a tasty way to try new treats from around the globe.
