Le Noir Bazaar - The Dark Market April 2018 Review
This box came with a folded letter that gave the breakdown and values for each of the items in the box. I loved the quality and texture of the paper it was printed on, and the time and care that was obviously taken to cut out decorative edges was really appreciated, and the sticker it was sealed with was so cute!
This box also included a card for 4 Paws Heaven, a nonprofit that helps to save shelter dogs from high-kill facilities. I love doggos, so I’ll be checking out this organization for sure!
Canvas Skull Wallet - Listed Value $25
The first item in this box that I reached for was this wallet! I totally love anything that boasts a skull print, and this wallet is really high quality. It’s well-sewn, has a really useful number of pockets, and the zippers all work smoothly. It definitely has enough room to fit cards, cash, gift cards, and the loyalty punch cards I always seem to collect, but it’s not too big; it would fit in almost any purse I own.
Handmade Bat Necklace - Listed Value $40
Who would’ve guessed that a bat necklace could be this pretty? Accented with genuine garnet and crystal beads, this piece is beautifully goth, but super-wearable at the same time. I think the scale of this necklace makes it really accessible; the fact that this piece isn’t overbearingly huge means that it can be worn with a wide variety of necklines and outfits, and I can’t wait to pair it with a simple black tee and jeans.
Carved Opalite Skull - Listed Value $18
What a show-stopper this piece is! When I pulled out this beautifully carved skull, I actually gasped! I’m so thrilled I received the opalite variety; it’s milky on the outside but when held up to the light, it almost looks like it’s burning with rainbow-colored fire inside. It has a nice heft to it and has a nice amount of detail carved into the nose and teeth. This is going to look so beautiful on my vanity!
Le Noir Bazaar Black Raspberry Vanilla Bath Bomb - Listed Value $8
I’m sure everyone is quite familiar with my bath bomb obsession by now, and I’ll tell ya - any time I receive one of these in a subscription box, it makes my entire day! The smell of this one actually lightly perfumed the entire box, adding to the experience of unboxing, and it smells so good. Both raspberry and vanilla are among my favorite scents for both the home and myself, so I knew right away this was going to be a winner. It has a nice fruity scent that smells true to raspberry, with a nice hit of floral sweetness from the vanilla. Baths are always my little personal time out, and this fizzer is one of the more relaxing scents I’ve encountered in a long time!
Bone Ink Pen and Vampire Notepad - Listed Value $5
I am so guilty of leaving notebooks in every purse, on every table, and in every drawer, but I don’t have anything that looks like this! I really like the style of the illustration; for some reason it reminds me of the movie Nosferatu, which my husband and I watch every Halloween like clockwork! Of course, this notebook is brightly colored and that movie is black and white, but the old-fashioned clothes and presence of flowers nearby reminded me of the cinematography. I also can’t wait to take the pen to my office!
Black Studded Headband - Listed Value $6
I’ll admit it - lately, I’ve been in a rut with my hair! It’s gotten really long, and sometimes I really don’t know what to do with it besides pull it back. I think this headband will actually help me solve this problem for some of my outfits! This is nice and wide, but it’s not too tight, so I know it won’t give me a headache. It’ll add a nice little bit of edge to some of my summer dresses, and keep my hair off my face as well!
Bonus: Awake Caramel Chocolate Bites - Buy a 50-pack for $29.99
I really liked that these had some extra packaging to warn people of their caffeinated contents, because the extra caffeine these contain isn’t good for everyone! I absolutely love caramel, so I was thrilled to see that was the flavor of these I recieved. I received two individually-wrapped bites, and each one was supposed to equal a cup of coffee. I had one with my breakfast and that seemed about right - I did feel a little pick-me up, a bit more ready to tackle my morning. They were also delicious!
Verdict: I am absolutely in love with this new box! I really felt like the items within were incredibly tailored to my personal tastes, and the variety of product types was both delightful and surprising. The carved opalite skull I received was a real stunner, and I loved receiving a bath bomb, especially one in a much-beloved scent! The bat necklace was so beautiful and looks to be really high quality, and I loved the caffeine candies. Opening this box felt like it was my birthday, and all my closest friends had picked out things to delight me - they all fit my personality that well.
