Loot Anime "Alternative Universes" May 2018 Review

Loot Anime FLCL poster

Loot Anime product list

Loot Anime includes a poster in lieu of an info card. This month is inspired by FLCL, WHICH I LOVE!!! The back of the poster has the product list on it.

Loot Anime FLCL tee

Exclusive FLCL T-Shirt

Oh my gosh, FLCL is one of my favorite anime series of all time. I am so in love with this bright yellow tee! The shirt itself is nice, too—it's 100% cotton and pretty comfy. I can't wait to wear this out and about!

Loot Anime calls of the world pin

Loot Anime enamel pin

Exclusive Cells at Work Pin

Each month, I've gotten a new pin with a similar design to this one—rectangular, intricate, covered in smooth, clear resin. This Cells at Work pin is a little bigger than pins I've gotten in the past at 1.5" by 2". I like that these pins have become a collectible, but at the same time, I wish they'd shake up the shapes and designs sometimes.

Loot Anime drawing

Loot Anime art

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Art Print

There are three versions of this print that you can receive in this box. I love the sketched-out style of this print—it's right out of a frame in an animation. The print is about the size of a standard piece of paper, but the page is a little thicker and smoother than plain paper though. I do kind of wish there was something like a sleeve or a frame to help this print feel more valuable. Don't get me wrong—it's cool, but sometimes I give a little side-eye to getting such a simple print on paper and having it be a significant item of value.

Loot Crate Edition The Ancient Magus Bride, Vol. 1 Manga

Woohoo! I love getting new manga. This is a dark fantasy story that explores a somewhat twisted romance between a girl who's never known love and the skull-faced magus who takes her as his apprentice. It's bizarre and oddly romantic and rather engrossing!

Loot Anime brown baseball cap

Loot Anime ball cap

Loot Anime cat hat

Loot Anime embroidered hat

Exclusive Monster Hunter Stories Ride On Baseball Hat

I was never a hat person before this year, and now I'm totally bought in, haha! Gotta stay up with the trends, y'know? This particular hat has an embroidered logo on the back and the face of Navirou on the front. It's a solid canvas hat with an adjustable back. Subscribers might get a tan version, instead of this chocolate brown one.

The Verdict: Any box with FLCL items inside is A-OK by me! The print wasn't as impressive to me as maybe they intended, but everything else felt cool and like something I'd drop at least $10 or so at a store. The average cost of each item via the box is $6.79 (based on the price of the box itself), and even if I don't count the print, the average is $8.49. I think that's pretty fair for the exclusives I got!
