Paper Pumpkin May 2018 Review
This month’s theme is “Manly Moments.”
The instruction leaflet is not as informative as the how-to-video on YouTube, which I prefer to watch before starting the project. I use the instruction leaflet as a guide when I get stuck on a step.
Enclosed in each monthly kit are a water-based dye ink stamp pad in color mossy meadow and a photopolymer stamp set. The photopolymer stamp set has, “Happy,” “To You,” “Father’s Day,” “Birthday,” “Anniversary,” “Thank you,” “Dad,” (two designs of the word “Dad”), “Favorite,” “Brother,” “Uncle”, “Son”, “Grandpa”, “Husband”, “Friend”, “Nephew”, “I Love You”, “For All You Do”, “You Are My”, and “Adventure”.
This photopolymer set covers everyone I would like to send a greeting or Father’s Day Card.
These cards were an easy assemble and no twine! There are two card bases and envelope designs; the one card was piecing the mountain stickers and cut-out trees onto the bottom of the card base and stamped the banners and die-cut. I’m placing the banner and die-cut onto the card base. The cards were not appealing, but once assembled, they looked better. The theme seemed boring and reminiscent of a Boy Scout craft.
My crafting buddy and I chose not to do Father’s Day cards because our fathers have passed away. We crafted “Thank you For All You Do,” “Happy Birthday To You,” and “Son, I Love You.” I was pleased that there were alternative sayings for this craft since the craft is for Father’s Day and not everyone may be able to celebrate the day.
Verdict: This month’s Paper Pumpkin was effortless and geared for the dads in your life. The photopolymer set has everyone covered: dad, friend, son, husband, nephew, uncle, and brother, which I thought was convenient. Even if a subscriber is not able to celebrate their dad, there are alternative sayings to make a card, as I did with the craft kit. This craft kit sends quality paper products and all the materials to make a variety of cards well worth the $19.95 a month subscription cost. I look forward to their selection for June and hope there’s a variety of card styles and designs.
