PinkSeoul Box May/June 2018 Review
Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type so be sure to figure out your skin type.
Here is the info sheet detailing the products.
Secret Key Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel, 120 ml - Retail Value $12
I find peeling gels like these to be a bit gimmicky with the balls of stuff that they claim is your dead skin, but this did have a pleasant lemon scent and my skin did feel gently exfoliated after using.
Manyo Factory Blemish Lab Proxyl 5% AHA Cream, 30 ml - Retail Value $23 (found here for $16)
I also received this in the May/June Pink Seoul Plus Box (review coming soon!), and I haven’t decided if I am going to keep this as a backup or pass it along to a friend. I haven’t used this long enough really see results, but if it works well for my skin I will happily use it consistently. So far my skin hasn’t been irritated by this, but it will take a few weeks for me to really be able to tell if this helps my acne.
The Saem Honey Facial Cream, 200 ml - Retail Value $12
This is a BIG jar of facial cream- if I didn’t know better I would think this was a body butter. This is gentle and hydrating thanks to the honey, but I don’t know if I want to make this my go-to moisturizer—even though my box is specifically for oily skin, this is just a touch too heavy for my skin. It does have a nice water-gel-cream consistency, and a little goes a long way.
The Saem Artlook Eyebrow Pencil, 10 g – Retail Value $5
I was pleasantly surprised with how this eyebrow pencil made it easy to naturally fill in my brows and add some definition.
Here it is swatched above the eyeshadow that came in the Pink Seoul Plus box. For the price, I think this is a pretty stellar eyebrow pencil!
Etude House My Beauty Tool Hair Band – Retail Value $5
I also received this in the May/June Pink Seoul Plus Box, and I am happy to have multiples. This is adorable, comfortable, and functional—everything I need in a hair band when I am masking!
RE:CIPE Slowganic Sheet Mask in Tomato – Retail Value $3
I am not a tomato fan, so I am thankful this doesn’t smell like tomatoes! In fact, I think I would describe this as scentless. This was easy to unfold and felt extra cooling when I applied it—I actually fell asleep while wearing it, so I call that a success in my book.
COSRX Holy Moly Snail Mask – Retail Value $3
Well this face mask was a bit of a disaster. It was a pretty light peach color, but it was very saturated with liquid. So saturated, in fact, that this dripped down my neck, my ears, and into my eyes. And guys, snail mucin face mask juice in your eye hurts. Since I only wore this for about thirty seconds, I wasn’t able to tell if it actually provided any benefits to my skin. Ahh well.
The Verdict: This is my second time experiencing the PinkSeoul Box and it continues to be a box of fun. Even though the peeling gel, the honey cream, and the snail sheet mask were misses for me I still feel like this box was a winner. That eyebrow pencil is a low-cost hidden gem, and if you are in the market for a new one I highly recommend trying it out! Value-wise, I calculated a value of $63, which is above the promised value of $60.
The Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The May/June box is currently sold out, but you can sign up for the July/August box here.
