Ricky’s NYC Cult Crushes Beauty Box – June 2018 Full Spoilers!

Can someone tell me how to cancel Ricky’s cult crush. I can’t seem to find it on their website?

I was charged in April (never got an April box). I was charged in May and then got 2 May boxes! There isn’t anything in the May box that I will use. So now I have 2 of everything. Ugh! What a waste. And waste of money. I just got my June box yesterday. Although it does look better than last months I’m done with this box already.

Just got my box from the mail man moments ago. He asked what is inside because it’s all over his bag! The put the bubble wrap in, then raffia, then all the products on top! Rose water…..which is what I was excited to try….EVERYWHERE! Ugh. The shadow…first ingredient is talc. It’s pigmented but, if you’ve got even a small amount of wrinkles on the eye…the shimmer is gonna make those wrinkles show like they’re crepey. Done with Ricky’s. I looked up this sub before ordering. People are right. Something is wrong at Ricky’s. I got billed at the end of May and again today for the June box. I now have the hassle of explaining to a company that I already paid and do not want to pay $28 for a sub I only agreed to pay $14 for. Bye bye Ricky’s. It’s one thing to have some not so good boxes, itsanother when you begin to mess with my account like Allure did. Hope everyone else’s experience is a whole lot better than mine.

Yikes!!! Don’t seem interesting at all :(( don’t need skincare, rather have makeup, lashes, setting sprays etc..

Wonder if enough people cancel they will drop the price again, because this don’t seem to be getting better

I just subscribed and am already VERY disappointed…… time to try another one – I will give Ricky’s 2 more months only….

Wow!!! What a disappointment! This is my 2nd month with Ricky’s. I said I will give them a 3 month trial to win me over & it’s not looking good so far. If the box doesn’t get better by next month, July will be my last with them. Wow… Just wow.. I was so super excited about this box a few months back.

I just paused this sub. It was pretty easy to do and if they do turn around it is easier to restart than resubscribe. For people who think this is a good value is CC only box you have? I am just wondering because most boxes seem to be around 4x the value of box. My Ipsy is usually around $40 Boxy is around or over $100 Allure is over $60 . Even mystery boxes like PUR or Too faced etc follow this. So no a $14 sub that sends products worth around $30- $40 is not a good value. Their box needs to be closer to $60 retail value. And this needs to be every month you can’t say well few months ago they sent great boxes. Ya to get a rush of subscribers to fill their pockets look at them now .

I’m really disappointed. One makeup item. The rest is skin stuff and not the exciting items of past. I guess they expanded too fast. I’ll hang in there another month. I hope they can figure out how to get back to the fun boxes and not give us skin stuff and boring items we quit Birchbox for. Vitamins? Acne cleansers. Thanks grandma.

I’ve been a subscriber since last year, the last 2 months have been such a horrible disappointment. And the fact that they jacked the price up $3…. and sent us this box of samples. They should have tried to impress us, and show us that yes, the box now costs more, but look what your gaining. Instead it was box with small samples and 3 masks. December had one product alone worth $35. Other months have had palettes and even a straight iron mini. I’ll give them another 2 months tops. Then I’ll be unsubscribing if it hasn’t improved.

SO SO SO happy I unsubscribed! I subscribed when I started noticing the unboxings on youtube and though I have subscription box overload I can never pass up a good value box. May was my first box and I was really not that impressed. Not super disappointed, however, not wow’d either. I decided to cancel when the price was increased a couple of weeks after they opened up their wait list because I felt it was a little shady to do that right after they took on a bunch of new subscribers, and SO glad I did. You would think that after a $3 price increase they would have had a fantastic box in the works to make the consumer feel satisfied with the increase, but this box is just disappointing. Even Alexandra Ryan feels that way because she put the blurb of “is it worth it?” on her video. And she’s gone on the record to say that Ricky’s was one of her favorite sub boxes, so that just goes to show you the opinions floating around in our sub box world….

Soooo, I thought this was a make-up box. Only 1 makeup item….so disappointing. Yep, I am cancelling after only 2 months.

I’m still waiting for one item from the May box (that I received in June). I’ll give them one more month then decide if I unsubscribe or stay. After all the great reviews I read about their $11 boxes, I’m disappointed things are turning out so poorly.

$14 free shipping you say? They charged me an extra 5.99 last month for shipping charges…

Overall, I like the box and i am definitely not cancelling, nor am I particularly upset about $3 more. But…a vitamin sample? Really? You need to send at least a 30 day supply if we are to see any value in this product.

Sounds like a great box to me. Not surprised at the whining from the crowd that thinks that a good box is only a box with products from the overpriced, mediocre Tarte and Too Faced. Once all these people are gone, Ricky’s can relax and continue to be the non-Allure box that it has always been. Rock on, Ricky’s!

If you don’t want to try new things, don’t get beauty boxes. Just go to Sephora and shell out for exactly what makes you happy.

I am on the waitlist and they just sent out an e-mail about signing up, but I’m a little hesitant based on these spoilers. It doesn’t seem as good as what I’m seeing from Allure or BeautyFix or Look Fantastic…

How long is the wait on the waitlist usually?

Looking a little bland. Really don’t want vitamins. I’ll do Another month. They started out great but like other boxes, hum drum has set in. Nothing exciting or edgy. One makeup item. One? Maybe they grew too big to keep up exciting boxes. I have no idea what the extra cost went for this month, It didn’t seem to be anything in the box!

I am SOOOO angry at Ricky’s NYC. After being on the waiting list for 2 months, they finally contacted me to subscribe and I did just that. After I got their box, I decided to order something from their website and VOILA…NO DISCOUNT! All Cult Crushers get a 25% discount…so why not me> I sent them an email asking what’s going on…and I got no response.

I then got a general public email from them saying the wait list was off and I could subscribe. WHY would I need to subscribe since I was already subscribed> I sent a second email…no response. I got a second notice that I could subscribe…sent another email and guess what? Still no response. I sent a 3rd, 4th, 5th email and (all together now) NO RESPONSE.

I was so fed up that I actually called their offices on Friday and the woman I dealt with was surprised (really now?) and said she would look into it and call me back. Still no response… Ricky’s will never get one more dime from me!

Wow. So gladded I cancelled. Dodged a sample sized bullet with this one! I’m pretty sure the eyeshadow is also in ipsy this month or was recently. Either that or one very much like it was.

Yeah, not very impressed. Will stick around for 1 more month and if it doesn’t get better.. bye bye.!

They did a temporary hold or something on my card for the subscription amount on June 2nd, then never completed it.

Did this happen to anyone else? I’m not really understanding this company or how they do things with their sub very well.
I won’t be hurt if I don’t get this box, either.

The gold metallic eyeshadow looks amazing. Like others, I hoped that the entire box would be amazing so we wouldn’t regret staying with them. I’ll stay with them for now, because the palettes they have are so worth it IMO. For me, it’s this box or Medusa’s Make-Up. We shall see…
