What Box Have You Subscribed to the Longest and Why?
For me, it's Birchbox. (That photo is from my first Birchbox review in 2012, but I had been subscribing for months before then.) Birchbox is definitely my gateway box - I was obsessed with those 5 monthly beauty samples and it's the reason this site exists today! Even though Birchbox doesn't send as many full-size items as they used to, I still love Birchbox for product discovery. I've found so many amazing brands + products through their subscription.
P.S. If you have an idea for a future Subscriber Survey question, let me know in the comments!

I have tried hundreds of subscriptions, most of which I kept for one month to one year. My all time favorite and the one I’ve had the longest (about three years) is Cozy Reader. As a middle aged woman, this is the one subscription that consistently provides the most enjoyable items for my interests and lifestyle. This is one of the more expensive boxes but it’s also the one that contains the most items I’ll actually use and enjoy. I almost never have to re-home anything that comes in a Cozy Reader box!

Sephora Play! was my gateway box about three years ago. I loved it, but since my daughter and I share an account to keep Rouge status, I have started sending her my sub this year. She sent me an Ipsy invite, so I started that and love the bags, but feel so so about the products. My favorites now are SkinFx and Boxycharm. I also get Allure, Birchbox and FabFitFun. I liked Boxy so much I got a second sub for my daughter for three months. She’s an aesthetician, so she has a great appreciation for makeup and skin care. So addicted to beauty subs!

Allure, for more than a few years now. Although I feel like some months were really off and not curated well at all, still, there have been many months that have stood out and really kept me coming back for more. To each is own though! We want what we want, and like what we like!

Ipsy was my first (I have 3 ipsys now) I almost immediately subscribed to any beauty box I could get my hands on after I got that first Ipsy about 4 years ago. Today I’m left with 3 ipsys, 3 allures, Macy’s, LFB, glossybox, boxycharm, birchbox, Walmart and (target occasionally) slutbox, Sephora. (Maybe some I’m forgetting) I have Unsubbed to a few I wasn’t that impressed with and I’ve never tried anything outside the beauty realm with the exception of Amber Rose’s slutbox which I plan to cancel. I just wanted to check it out for the first few months.
I used to without a doubt be able to say that Ipsy was always a win with me (clearly why I have 3 bags) but they’ve really been missing the mark with me the last 6 months or so. Boxycharm is normally always my favorite, however the last two months haven’t been home runs for me with them either, but I know it’s just me having so much stuff it’s kinda hard to wow me at this point.

FabFitFun box was the box I started with and then I added GlossyBox with it. With the two things I don’t care for goes in stockings for the girls at Christmas or in baskets for gifts for friends.

Beauty Fix, I tried a bunch of them last year and Beauty Fix is the one I’m happiest with in terms of size and quality of products that I will actually use.

Ipsy. I started with Fab Fit Fun but only kept it 3 or 4 seasons. It just wasn’t for me. Then I got Ipsy, Birchbox, and Allure. I have gone back and forth with BB and Allure, cancelling and resubbing, but I keep Ipsy. Maybe it’s the fact that I got waitlisted at first so I never want to let it go.
Since then, I’ve added and subtracted many subs. After the three above, I found Glossybox, which I enjoyed for about 3 years and then…I discovered MSA. I’m sure you all know the rest of the story…

I have been with Ipsy for many years and I will never quit it mainly because it’s easy. They take my money the same day every month, never double bill me, send me tracking that actually moves, I get it on the day they promise and even if I don’t like everything I always like something.

I started with Ipsy years ago I’ve seen a lot of complaints over the years and people dropping their subscription but they’ve always done right by me then I added Sephora and Allure when I moved I had a horrible time with my address change and neighbor stealing my packages but all three of these guys replace my missing box even multiple times without a single question asked I have since I added Macy’s and adore that Box 2 amazingly I rarely get repeats between these four boxes and somehow they know exactly the perfect box to send me

Popsugar forever! Even the worst curation or the worst items still have brought me joy. Even if the RV in boxes like FabFitFun are higher, I just love my Popsugar.

Causebox. Then Merkaela. Even when I don’t love the products in Causebox, I love their intentions.

My longest are FFF, because it’s a fun mix of useful and different items, and Walmart, because it’s cheap and I should probably cancel. Lol
Next longest, is Ipsy, but I canceled due to the missteps this month.

Started in 2012 with Birchbox, then found a list of sub boxes online, and added Glam Bag ( now Ipsy), PopSugar, and a few food subs which aren’t still around. ( I still mourn the loss of a couple of food boxes, they were so great but nothing lasts forever).
Since then, I’ve tried every variety of sub. box which exists for adult women until the last couple of years. I’ve settled into a subscription routine I really love except for the changes PopSugar Must Have made from monthly to quarterly. I really prefer the monthly box at this point.. Maybe the quarterly will become more ” adult”- referencing those high valued earrings, mostly.
I dropped my book club for Kindle First Reads ( which now has a new name).

Ipsy since February 2015. I signed up for it and Birchbox at the same time and canceled Birchbox after they got rid of their points system. Ipsy I don’t always like but I can’t bring myself to cancel because I’ve gotten some great items!

5-6 yrs ago, I was watching a TV show called THE PROFIT in which wealthy businessman helped small businesses to expand. There was a cosmetic company which wasn’t doing well and he signed them up to include their products as samples in Birch box. Huh? What is Birchbox ?. I googled it and signed up. I remained with Botchbox for a year, then, on FB, I saw a ad for IPSY. I signed up for that one too.. I was a customer for these 3 boxes for about 18 months but I thought that there HAS to be more. I googled “beauty boxes” and hit the jackpot! ! I dropped Birchbox and Ipsy and I am now a subscriber to 21 subscription boxes of different genres. My favorites: FFF, Boxycharm, Yuzen,Emma and Chloe, wonderful Objects, Seasonal Maine, A Splash of Color and Gift Izzy/

My first ever subscription box was Nicely Noted. I subbed in early 2012 and I’m still subscribed. I’ve also been subbed to Pusheen box since the beginning.

I have had a lot of birchboxes but only 9 in a row, when I first started subscribing to beauty boxes. I’ve had the Walmart quarterly box since it launched, its one of the boxes that’s worth every penny, even if I gift 3/4 of it. Sometimes I snag the Target box but that’s my thin time of month so I usually can’t justify it.

I’ve been with Shoedazzle & JustFab since their first month opening. Shoedazzle is going on 10 years this November!
For regular sub boxes, I’ve been with Popsugar since the second box and Fabfitfun since their first.

I started with Allure 5 years ago. Then Ipsy for 1.5 years. I now have SephoraPlay and a jewelry sub. Oh, and Glossy box has to be my fave. I also buy one time boxes usually for gifting.

My first B.B. and the one I keep going back to is Allure back when it was in a little black box (the previous name escapes me). The longest continuous subscription is LMdB at 5 years. I’m having a hard time giving this one up due to the value each month. I enjoy one or two high value items each month. Out of the lower cost boxes, Allure often has some great boxes which is why I keep going back.

“Sample Society,” maybe? I remember I got several of them before they switched to Allure.

It was ” Allure Beauty Bar” when it was the black box with the city skyline. 🙂

I just started with sub boxes in December. So still relatively new. Lol. I didn’t even know the sub box world existed until then!😂. I signed up for both Ipsy and birchbox and was going to try both for 3 months and then choose one. I chose birchbox. I kept birchbox until last month and then subscribed to Allure. I’m loving Allure. Tried pop sugar. Was a bust for me after two boxes. I received the last monthly box and the first quarterly box. But. I’ve signed up for FFF as an annual member. So in advance, I’ve been with FFF the longest! Lol

I have just joined the world of subscriptions recently but I love FFF, beautyfix, and boxycharm. I just canceled ipsy in favor of giving the Macy’s box a try. I’m not a huge fan of samples, but I like the bags to help keep the products organized.
