Switch is a jewelry rental service that lets you try out designer jewelry without the commitment. You pick your favorite pieces and try them out for as long as you want with a monthly fee. This is a review of the 3 pieces at a time plan.
Switch also offers the option to purchase jewelry pieces at a discounted member price. For every month that you’re a member, you get a $10 credit that you can use towards the purchase of a piece of jewelry at the special member price.
The order is contained in a sturdy black box, perfect for safe storage of these borrowed pieces.
Switch will always use USPS First Class mail to send your jewelry unless it weighs more than 1 pound. Each package comes with a prepaid USPS return label so you can leave your return for your mail carrier or drop it off at the post office if you’re the nervous type. Shipping is free both ways, and they just ask that you package it just as you received it to return to them. It’s important to save the mailer and packaging for your return.

Switch Subscription Box June 2018 Review
The order is topped with a bunch of different info cards. The first explains how you should take care of your jewelry.
The next card provides instructions on what to do when you’re ready to switch.
The sent with love card explains that prior to receiving the jewelry, each piece has been cleaned and sanitized, had its authenticity guaranteed, as well as some other info about the subscription. Minor wear and tear is covered as well!
The final two inserts explain how you can refer a friend (for each friend you refer you get an additional $10 towards your membership) and how to purchase pieces if you fall in love with one of them.
When you activate your subscription, you get to select the pieces that you want to receive from their available inventory. They’ve also recently incorporated a “favoriting” function where you can star pieces for future selections!
CHANEL Vintage CC Logo Circle Cut Out Bracelet – Retail Value $1,000, Member Price $685
My dreams are filled with Chanel. My closet and jewelry box are not - yet! This gold-tone chain circle out iconic double C logo bracelet measures 7" in length and features a spring ring clasp closure. It's from the 1983 college (and part of Switch's "vintage" line). It's lightweight to wear and packs a "wow" factor. I felt super cool running errands in the suburbs of Pittsburgh with this little beauty on my wrist. I'm not sure how I'm going to part with it!
VALENTINO Rockstud Double Wrap Bracelet (Aqua Green) – Retail Value $305, Member Price $245
This color is so vibrant! This aqua green leather bracelet features yellow gold pyramid studs all around it, and has a belt-buckle closure enabling an adjustable and perfect fit! It measures 22.5" long and is about 0.4" wide.
I wore this as a pop of color with a black T-shirt and this weekend. I also love it with an all-white ensemble (think the Rachel Zoe coverup – paired with this – yum!) To me this is a perfect summer piece. Only people in the “know” would “know” this was Valentino – it’s not marked as such. But honestly, if this was from Target I wouldn’t care, it such a fun, beautiful piece!
COLINE ASSADE Big Leaves Earrings– Retail Value $310.00, Member Price $250.00
Big leaves are everything right now – I’m obsessed with them! I was so excited for the earrings, but honestly, wasn’t pleased with their condition when they arrived. The back posts are flimsy and seem to bend easily (I’m afraid they’ll break right of!) and they are tarnished and just don’t look clean to me.
They’re sterling silver, measure 0.8” wide and 1” high and are from the Forest Spirits collection. I do love them in the photo still – I just feel like the piece that I received isn’t in great condition.
The Verdict: I would be hard-pressed to ever have a bad feeling about a subscription that lets me borrow essentially unlimited amounts (you can switch your pieces at any time, and have 3 pieces out for $69/month) of this type of jewelry from luxury brands. The only critical piece that I can say is that there are some pieces I've seen on the site that I'd love to try, but are always out as borrowed. And I wish they had more Chanel earrings that weren’t clip-on styles. These are very much first world problems though – and there are always a ton of great pieces to choose from!
In this shipment, I tried out $1,615 of jewelry for $69 – which is about 4.3% of their retail value. That’s a solid deal right there, amiright?!?
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Pieces can get snatched up quickly, and the number of pieces they have per style varies. You may or may not see these pieces in their available inventory list – but you might just see something you like even more! This isn’t a “styled” subscription, meaning you can pick exactly what you want from the available list. It’s not selected for you based on an algorithm or your preferences.

Value Breakdown: These three pieces cost $69.00 to rent, which is a great deal if it works for your budget and needs. It’s pricier than Rocksbox (which offers mid-range designer jewelry) but less than Rent the Runway (which offers designer jewelry, accessories, and clothes, too). To rent just one piece per month is $29.00, so you’re saving about $6.00 per piece to go for the larger subscription.
Which brings me to my final point: in this shipment, I had the opportunity to borrow a $1,000 Chanel bracelet from 1983 – so that kind of seems priceless to me.
