The Bakery Box "Peach Iced Tea" May 2018 Review

Peach Iced Tea Bar Soap, 4 oz

Peach Iced Tea Bar Soap, 4 oz – Estimated Value $3

This soap is really cute! It has clear soap cubes attached to it that resemble ice cubes that you would get in your peach iced tea! I love the smell of peach, however the peach scent in this soap was a little artificial smelling for my taste. This soap did a standard job of cleaning my skin and lathering up without being drying. This soap was made just for this box, but other Shea Shea Bakery soaps retail $3 here, which is where my estimated value comes from.

Peach Iced Tea Body Mist, 8 oz – Estimated Value $15

This is another item that is a box exclusive, but other 8 oz body mists retail for $15. This body mist had a strong artificial smell to my nose, so I won’t be reaching for it. Personal preference aside, I am happy that the box included such a large size of one of their products.

Peach Cobbler Body Butter, 2 oz

Peach Cobbler Body Butter, 2 oz – Retail Value $6

This body butter is thick and luxurious, and a little bit goes a long way. I wasn’t a fan of the scent at first, but once it sank into my skin, it transformed! You can really smell the cinnamon undertones with the light peach scent, and this didn’t leave me greasy. This didn’t have a size listed, but I am 98% positive it is the 2 oz size they sell online.

Peach Oatmeal Body Scrub, 4 oz – Estimated Value $10

This is another box-exclusive scent, and I wish it wasn’t. This smells just like a fresh baked oatmeal cookie with hints of peach, and it really smells good enough to eat. This provided a great exfoliation while being gentle and hydrating. This was the clear winner of the box for me. While you can’t get the peach oatmeal scent, I have a feeling their cookie dough body scrub would be just as scrumptious smelling, and that is what I based the value on.

Pie Crumbs Fizzy Bath Solution, 8 oz – Estimated Value $4?

I couldn’t find this bath solution anywhere online, so I based the value off of the Shea Shea Bakery Bath Sprinkles. It was hard to put a name to what these actually smell like. There was a light and delicate generic baked goods scent, but I don’t know if that smell is what pie crumbs really smell like (I am not a big pie person). That being said, the blend of salts made for a  relaxing bath time experience, which is something I am all about.

The Verdict: I mentioned in last month’s review that the value felt a little light, and I definitely think this month Shea Shea Bakery stepped it up a notch. My favorite item was the peach oatmeal body scrub, and I really enjoyed the pie crumb bath salts too! Even though some of the scents were misses for me, I can still appreciate this box as a whole. I calculated a value of $38, which I think is fair for the cost of the box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? If you sign up today your first box will be the May box.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $24.55 and I calculated a value of $38. That means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Soap: $1.94
  • Body Mist: $9.69
  • Body Butter: $3.87
  • Scrub: $6.46
  • Bath Solution: $2.58

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

This was my first month and I enjoyed how everything was put together. I didn’t really get an artificial feel, but I do wish that the spray had more staying power. I’m not a bath person so I’d like to find another way to use the Pie Crumbs (besides using as a foot soak). I think that June reveals/shipments go out around the 17th– looking forward to seeing what they come up with next!

I love this sub. I think the scent of the theme ” Peach Tea” is spot on. Everything is packaged very nicely, and the sizes are generous for a bath and body themed box.

I didn’t find anything to smell artificial or unusual. I think it’s just about perfect, as a drinker of peach iced tea daily.. sometimes in the summer, more than once a day.
This is one of the totally sweetest, most feminine- smelling body care boxes I’ve ever gotten. I’m HOOKED.

I do wish they’d make their boxes prettier in design and color, but maybe they are still growing their business and will see to this aspect later on. What matters most to me is what’s inside! LOVE IT!

I loved this box. I think the scents were blended very well to smell just like peach tea, a Southern favorite.
I didn’t find anything to be artificial, or overly strong scented. I don’t agree with the reviewer’s assessment of some of the scents at all. I love what Shea Shea has curated.

I also think the sizes are great and there is a lot of value in the products. The body butter smoothes out rough ” poolside heels” like magic.

I agree that the storage box should be prettier. I don’t like the coloration and huge logos of the shipper box at all, and think there are ample opportunities to make it prettier and more worthy of display in one’s bath or vanity area. However, I think it’s unlikely they will make it prettier because most bath and body sub boxes are drab on the outside, even FCS is.

After reading the reviews for this box for the last several months I decided to subscribe today. I like that this box provides a few quality full size products rather than a bunch of small samples. I’m looking forward to receiving my first box! Thank you for the through, well written review!

I like this box – yet they need to do a better job packaging it, the presentation did not make the box feel special. If I could suggest anything anything to the curator it would be work on the presentation and packaging, first impressions can make a box more appealing especially one that is not high value.

I thought the lotion smelled incredible! I also love their scrubs, they have just enough oil in them without being too dry or too wet.
