The BAM! Horror Box April 2018 Review

This month includes items from The Lost Boys, Hatchet, Friday the 13th, Child’s Play, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Candyman.

This sheet gives info on this month’s box and also regarding the BAM! Community where you can trade items, enter contests, get the latest BAM! news, and meet fellow horror fiends and Bammers alike! The form also suggests looking in email and the site for info for the May box!

I was really excited to see they were going to have Halloween 3: Season of the Witch collectible enamel pins. I am not embarrassed to say that is my second favorite Halloween movie next to the original. Unfortunately, BAM! didn’t include my pin in this month’s box. I emailed them and they apologized and advised they would send the pin soon, though. I have not received it yet, but I will give you updates on when I do! I am so eager to see which one I get!

Missing Laddie Thompson Carnation Milk Carton Prop Replica — Retail Value Unavailable

This month’s box includes a replica of the milk carton from The Lost Boys. I never got into this movie, but my longtime best friend LOVES this film. This carton is made of the same material an actual milk carton is made of, but with a glossy finish. It makes a great display piece for any ultra-fan but is a bit disappointing due to value.

Jeepers Creepers Shuriken Prop Replica by Dark Matters Props

Jeepers Creepers Shuriken Prop Replica by Dark Matters Props — Retail Value Unavailable

Jeepers Creepers is such an unnerving movie, especially once I read about the director, Frank Silva. Google it and you will be creeped out as well! This is a replica of the Creeper’s weapon of choice: the shuriken consisting of bone, teeth, and metal. The piece could use a bit more paint for added detail of the filthy, distressed quality. Otherwise, an interesting piece.

Director, Adam Green, of Hatchet Signed 8x10 Poster/Photo — Retail Value Unavailable

I never heard of Hatchet movies or Adam Green, but upon researching, I want to see the horror-comedy series that is a homage to old-school slasher films! To any of Mr. Green’s existing fans, this is a nice treat!

BAM! Horror Exclusive “Legends” Fan Art Collection Print by Ken Hauser (Number 1 of 3) — Retail Value Unavailable

Holy smokes! This may be one of my favorite BAM! Horror Box prints! Leatherface, Chucky, Critter, Jason Voorhees, Predator, and the Candyman all in one piece! Candyman is a movie that still haunts me to this day. Fifth grade aged me stayed up past my bedtime and watched a 2 am broadcast of it on HBO years ago. I was rendered terrified. I couldn’t take a bath or go to the bathroom without the door being open for a month after my first viewing. I love that this features a variety of cult horror characters along with the usual suspects like Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, and Chucky! The artist’s style is dark, yet very influenced by old-school comics. I love it!

Verdict: This month’s box had some interesting pieces, but I am most eager to see which of the Halloween 3 pins arrive in my box for next month! I will update you guys in the next review. The prop replicas this time around weren’t as exciting as some received in past boxes. Aside from the pin, I am waiting on, I absolutely loved the Ken Hauser print! I am looking forward to seeing what BAM! Horror Box will offer in the next few months since things have been bumpy with their office relocation during the last few months.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the July box. From Bam!:

Your box will ship on the 28th of every month. Please order by 5 pm on the 17th to get the current box.

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $26.99 + $7.99 shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box (including the pin on it's way) has an average cost of $7.

Wow I am surprised all those movies and everything associated with them hasn’t been pulled. That is disgusting.

Omg I looked up that keepers creepers guy and that’s just awful especially since he didn’t even serve his whole sentence!! And I loved those movies but now ??? Weird!

I think you mean Victor Salva. Frank Silva was in Twin Peaks and has no relation to Jeepers Creepers.

My bad! Hahaha. I did. Poor Frank. I don’t wanna drag him into it! RIP!

Anna

Not just that but doubt he’d want his name confused with a convicted creeper.

This is like the time I accidentally called Fred Schneider Rob Schneider. I have never seen someone disappear as quickly in my life. Hahahaha.

What can I say… I have Twin Peaks on the brain. My bad. A million times over. Hahaha

Yeah, you NEED to see the Hatchet trilogy. It has some really memorable death scenes. That’s awesome that you have an Adam Green autograph!
