The Boy Box Bibdana + Hat July 2018 Review
Plaid Bib Set - Estimated Value $19.00 (value based on a similar set)
We actually received our bibdana and hat near the middle of June this month. Shipments were sent early so they would arrive in time for the Fourth of July since the items coordinated with the holiday. I thought this was pretty considerate of them to ensure that customers got their items in time! While plaid was not exactly what I think of for this holiday, I actually kind of like it because it can be worn pretty much any time of year since it isn’t specific to the Fourth.
This month our hat and bibdana are both made from the same fabric. It feels a little bit stiff to me and is made from 100% cotton machine washable, which is important for messy babies! The fabric is also a bit thinner and lighter which is good for a summer set.
The bibdana has two different snap settings so that you can adjust it to fit your baby comfortably. It’s hard to tell from far away, but the colors are actually the perfect shades of red, white and blue.
The hat is a little big and I had to roll it up a few times in order to get it to fit, but since this fabric is a bit stiff it looks a little silly on him. I think he can definitely make this work in the winter though! The red and plaid will still be a good style for then. The bibdana is also a bit big on him, but the way that the folds roll up under his chin is actually good because I think it will catch any messes.
Verdict: This wasn’t my favorite style for The Boy Box, but I’m so appreciative that this arrived in time for the Fourth of July holiday. Hopefully, that’s indicative of their customer service! They were cute for the occasion and since they are a bit big on my 2-month-old, we will definitely get a lot of use out of them as he grows, which is nice. Their bib sets retail for $19.00, so for $12.98 ($9.99 + $2.99 shipping), I think it’s a fun way to add some holiday accessories to his wardrobe!
