The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo - Retail Value $17.99
Book Summary from Amazon:
From the author of I Believe in a Thing Called Love, a laugh-out-loud story of love, new friendships, and one unique food truck.
Clara Shin lives for pranks and disruption. When she takes one joke too far, her dad sentences her to a summer working on his food truck, the KoBra, alongside her uptight classmate Rose Carver. Not the carefree summer Clara had imagined. But maybe Rose isn't so bad. Maybe the boy named Hamlet (yes, Hamlet) crushing on her is pretty cute. Maybe Clara actually feels invested in her dad’s business. What if taking this summer seriously means that Clara has to leave her old self behind? With Maurene Goo's signature warmth and humor, The Way You Make Me Feel is a relatable story of falling in love and finding yourself in the places you’d never thought to look.
I thought this was a fun and light, contemporary summer read. I really liked the main character's relationship with her father (its more in the forefront of the novel - which is refreshing for YA.)
Also, not related to the story, but I just love the cover design of this book!
The book also came with a KoBra food truck enamel pin:
And now for the additional bookish goodies:
Uppercase Clever Fox Socks - Estimated Value $12?
These fox socks are adorable!
(I'm always happy to see socks + enamel pins in book subscription boxes, too!)
Alice in Wonderland Iron On Patches - (Set of 3) Estimated Value $10?
(Both these iron-on patches and the socks are exclusive to the subscription, so I'm estimating values.) I'm not much of an iron-on patch person, but I already have the perfect person in mind for gifting these!
Verdict: This box has an estimated value of about $40. I think the value is always there with this subscription - the book curation is very thoughtful, and it's great getting a signed book each month. Plus, the bookish goodies are always so dang cute!
