Your Bijoux Box Summer Mystery Box Review
Sparkle On Lariat (From the May 2018 box)
This necklace was a Your Bijoux Box exclusive from the May box, and I was a little bummed to see it. I bought the May box as a one-off, and I was especially excited about this lariat. Unfortunately, this necklace has been tarnishing extremely quickly and my formerly gold necklace is now half gold, half silver in color. I wouldn’t want to give this away knowing that it would tarnish so quickly, so I guess this is my backup for when my current one is too tarnished to look acceptable.
House of Harlow 1960 Lyra Bangle Set in Gold and Blue - Retail Value $85
When I opened this I was so confused—why did Your Bijoux Box send me two of the same bracelets? It’s because this is a bracelet set and I am just not sophisticated enough to realize this. This is sold out on the website, but when it was available it retailed for $85. I think the quality of these bracelets are pretty great, and I love the blue studs set in their geometric gold homes. Unfortunately, though these are slightly adjustable, they aren’t a good fit for my thick wrists. I took these with me when I went to dinner with my best friend, and I asked her to try them on for me. They looked so lovely on her I had to gift them!
Sorry for the bad restaurant lighting, but as you can see this is a much better fit. The gold and blue went lovely with her coloring, too!
Deepa by Deepa Gurnani Headband - Estimated Value $60 (from the March 2018 box)
I absolutely love Deepa Gurnani headbands—I think they are so beautiful. This alone makes this mystery box a big winner. I love the contrast of the gold and gunmetal beading. I have a weird-shaped head and most headbands slip off very quickly, but this stayed put on me when I wore it with my hair in a side ponytail.
Here I am wearing the lariat necklace and the headband!
Coasters by Anne Taintor – Retail Value $6 (found here for $1. From the April 2018 box)
These coasters are a cute addition. I love the snark of the quotes combined with the vintage models, and I know the perfect friend who I plan on giving these to (I am just not a coaster user).
The Verdict: I think overall this is a decent mystery box. I am bummed to see the lariat again, just because of the questionable quality (the style is right up my alley!). Even though the bracelet set didn’t fit me, I appreciate their beauty and that they made a dear friend happy. The headband makes it all worth it to me personally, and the coasters are cute. I calculated an estimated value for everything except the lariat as $151, which meets the promised value of $150.
