Bath Sorbet Summer 2018 Review

The info sheet for the box included the names of the items and what about them made them significant for Bath Sorbet to feature it in the celebration of their two year anniversary!

The other side of the info sheet showed Bath Sorbet over the years. The company originally started when the owner made bath bombs for her daughters 4th birthday party in May 2016!

Warm Vanilla Sugar Bubbly Bar

Warm Vanilla Sugar Bubbly Bar – Estimated Value $8 (check out other bubbly bars here)

Warm vanilla sugar is always a comforting scent to me because it reminds me of growing up! Most kid scents were vanilla, and I think this was the first scent I purchased from Bath and Body Works. This bubbly bar nails the comforting scent perfectly, and I love how soft this bar was because it makes it easy to crumble and dissolve under running water. I was able to divide this bubbly bar into three baths, and I had a great pile of bubbles in each one.

Galaxy Shave Soap

Galaxy Shave Soap – Estimated Value $6 (check out other shave soaps here)

I wish shave soaps were around when I was younger and nicked myself every time I shaved (fun growing up story: the first time I shaved my legs I didn’t do the back because it didn’t even occur to me hair was growing there too. Who looks at the back of their legs? My mom had a field day with that). Now I don’t nick myself often, and it’s thanks to items like these! This shave soap really glided over my skin, leaving my legs soft and smooth. I got a really great shave using this and my skin felt so moisturized due to the Argan Oil that I forgot to follow up with lotion! Luckily this shave soap did its job, so I didn’t get razor burn, either!

High Maintenance Scent Sachet

This is a solid fragrance bar that is designed to freshen wherever you need it. I have it on a hanger near the entrance of my walk-in closet, and every time I get dressed I am greeted with my entire closet smelling lovely. My only complaint is that didn’t come with information on the scent—I love it, but I don’t know what I am smelling!

Delish Donut Bath Bomb

Delish Donut Bath Bomb – Estimated Value $5? (check out other bath bombs here. Unfortunately, there are no current donut bombs in stock)

As a lover of donuts, this was the first product from the box I tried. As soon as the bath bomb touched the water the entire thing started foaming up, and I was amazed. Most bath bombs need at least a second in the water before they really spring into action, but with this one the reaction was instant.

This turned my bath a lovely purple color and I was impressed that such a small bath bomb packed such an amazing colorful punch. The other bath bombs retail for $5, but I put a question mark after the estimated value because that seems like such a low number for such a high-quality bath bomb! This was Duchess's favorite out of all of the great products!

Creamy Coconut Bath Truffle – Estimated Value $3 (check out other bath truffles here)

I love coconut everything, so I was all on board with this bath truffle. The coconut scent was delicious and the cocoa and mango butter left my skin feeling so soft and supple—it’s a shame I don’t have a boyfriend because my seriously soft skin from great bath products like these is going unappreciated. When Bath Bevy first released this, they sold out four times in 24 hours!

Fruit Loop Bath Bomb

Fruit Loop Bath Bomb - Estimated Value $5? (check out other bath bombs here)

I had high hopes when I saw this bath bomb, especially after the joy I experienced with the donut bath bomb! This had the sweet scent that reminded me of one of my favorite childhood cereals, and it created absolutely beautiful bath art!

Trust me when I say the colors were more beautiful in person!  Gorgeous bath bombs like these really feel like I am treating myself when I use them, and I am a big believer in more is more when treating yourself. This bath bomb fit right in!

Club Tub Bath Bomb

Club Tub Bath Bomb – Estimated Value $8? (check out other bath bombs here)

When I first saw this I thought it would be a fun colored bath bomb, but I really wasn’t prepared for how great this was. Before using this, I saw on the Bath Sorbet Facebook page that this bath bomb actually LIGHTS UP. WHAT?? It was 10 pm at night when I saw that, and I almost got out of bed right then to go see if it was true. I decided to wait until after my last final of the summer was over, and then I used this as a celebration.

The colors of this bath bomb alone were stunning, and alone I would have been satisfied. But sure enough, when the bath bomb finished dissolving a real light show happened in my bathtub! I was squealing with joy—as a bath bomb lover, I can't fathom how a bath bomb could be any cooler! The light show is thanks to an LED ice cube, and I don’t think my baths will ever be the same after this. I can see why this is Bath Sorbet’s number one selling product of all time.

The Verdict: Look Y'all, I review several bath boxes. I shop at Lush frequently. I thought I had seen it all, and yet this box blew. Me. Away. The quality of every single item was simply superb—these are truly some of the best bath bombs I have ever used, and the prices are crazily affordable for the quality of the item. This box is full of creative and unique products, and I am absolutely in love. The fact that everything in this box is limited edition and can't be purchased separately only adds to the overall quality of the box. Not including the scent sachet, the estimated value is at $35, and I imagine the value of the sachet puts it right at the cost of the box. If I walked into Lush right now and picked out seven products, I wouldn't be able to get the deal this box provides—I really think I am smitten with Bath Sorbet!

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I ordered one of these and I’ve been disappointed. The scents seem “cheap” to me – and that sachet is so overpowering that it made it hard to pick up on the other scents at all. The sachet was very grandma perfume-like to me so that wasn’t a good thing. The bubble bar is also really thin – not thick like you would get at Lush or from Lavish. I think for the price Lavish is a MUCH better box.

How is the brown sugar bubble bar “reusable” per the directions on the packaging if it crumbles so easy?A bit confused by the directions. I was a bit disappointed with how thin it was compared to other bubble bars I’ve gotten from Lavish, but thought with it being reusable that it would offset that, but it literally disintegrated just trying to get it out of the package😕 The coconut bath truffle was AMAZING and I’m saving the club tub for a special occasion lol!

MM

Just curious, did any of these stain your bath tub? I love lush bath bombs but they stain so bad.

Jessica Hapak

Hi MM!
Great question and I’m sorry I didn’t include that in my review. I had ZERO staining 😊

While I have received bath bombs in sub boxes in the past, I honestly have never once used any of them. But after reading your review, and after seeing all of the incredible products in this birthday box, I, IMMEDIATELY ordered one!!!! and am SUPER EXCITED to try each and every one of the bath bombs in this box. If I had the money, I would’ve ordered one of these for every friend and every family member I have. Sooooo awesome!!!!!

So I got the Timehop 2nd birthday box but I was out of town when it arrived, so it has been waiting for me. Unfortunately, my Delish Donut bath bomb is mush. It’s just a powdered mess. I assume it will work just as well but I was a bit disappointed. Still, I’ll let you know how wonderful they are, after I’ve used a few of them. 😜😙

Kris

I just purchased this box and now I cannot wait to receive it!! Thanks you the great review!!

I’ve got to buy the light up bath bomb now. Their bath bombs are all so pretty.

I clicked on the link and it takes me to the general website. I don’t see the subscription box option.

Jessica Hapak

Hi Pudgekat!
They don’t offer a month to month subscription, but they do release LE boxes like the birthday box! The box is found on the front page underneath “featured collections” as “birthday celebration.”
Hope this helps!

The coconut truffle says it sold out twice when Bath Bevy sold it. Are they separate companies?

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica Hapak

Hi Anna!
Bath Bevy is a separate company from Bath sorbet. Bath sorbet creates all of their products, bath bevy has a subscription box featuring different bath brands. They also sell things on their website.
I hope that clears things up!
