Bless Box June 2018 Review

Bless Box has gotten a recent makeover with their box, and an info booklet that comes along with it. Inside, find the items included and listed values, plus interviews and general life tips.

Ardell Beauty Demi Wispies Lashes

Ardell Beauty Demi Wispies Lashes - Retail Value $3.79

Since I wear my glasses 95% of the time I don’t wear false lashes very often. Considering Bless Box sent lashes two boxes ago, it feels a bit repetitive. That being said, I love the drama that false lashes provide so I will be rocking these on my next big night out.

Olay Micropolishing Cleansing Infusion Hydrating Glow Facial Cleanser with Crushed Ginger and Citrus Extract, 1 oz – Estimated Value $1.50 (buy the full-size version for $7.49)

Even though this product has a real mouthful for a name, I actually was pleasantly surprised by this drugstore cleanser! I took this with me on a recent trip, and even though this was a new product for my skin that I was suddenly using twice a day, it didn't cause me to break out and my oily, acne-prone skin responded well it to. The exfoliation wasn't too abrasive for every-day use, and the citrus scent was really pleasant. If I was in a pinch and needed a drugstore option for a face wash this would be my first choice.

e.l.f Cosmetics Velvet Touch Eyeshadow Palette in Island Breeze,

e.l.f Cosmetics Velvet Touch Eyeshadow Palette in Island Breeze, Full-Size! Retail Value $12

I was excited to see this palette of fun colors in this box, but to be frank the quality just was not there. The eyeshadows really did feel velvety soft, but the color payoff was not great. The maroon and the gold were probably the best of the bunch, but even those shades didn’t pack the punch I was craving.

Here are the swatches. I went over each swatch twice to try and get the color to show through, but as you can see it leaves a lot to be desired.

Seraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Waterproof Eyeliner,

Seraphine Botanicals Liquid Coal Waterproof Eyeliner, Full-Size! Retail Value $22

This is a product that got delayed, so I don’t actually have it in hand. I think I prefer Bless shipping out the box and including this card letting us know it is on the way in a separate shipment rather than delaying the entire box for it. I know black eyeliners are a bit overdone in subscription boxes, but I am excited to try this one out when it finally arrives! Let me know below on your thoughts of the box shipping the eyeliner separately vs substituting a different item or delaying the entire box.

Totalee Hair Totalee Travel Collection,

Totalee Hair Totalee Travel Collection - Retail Value $39.95

Totalee is a new haircare line created by Sazam’s personal hair stylist! I was a bit weary trying out a haircare line that is supposed to be universal, as my hair is never truly satisfied. I needed some shampoo and conditioner for my trip, however, so this came packed in my suitcase! The shampoo impressed me, as it didn’t leave my hair feeling stripped of oils the way most shampoos do (especially shampoos that are not designed for curly hair). The conditioner was a good compliment, and even though it was very lightweight my curls still felt nourished. This duo wouldn't replace my everyday shampoo and conditioner, but it was a big step up from the normal travel-sized hair products. I think these products would be even more successful if your hair isn't as thick and curly as mine! My biggest complaint about the shine spray and hairspray is that the nozzle wasn't the best so the spray was really direct rather than a fine mist. When I sprayed the shine spray into my hands before running my fingers through my hair, I was really impressed with how shiny my curls looked! The hairspray and the "dream elixir" weren't great fits for my hair since I don't heat-style it, but overall I was impressed with the quality and performance of this travel collection!

YHF Los Angeles Sunglasses,

YHF Los Angeles Sunglasses - Listed Value $60

I normally am not a fan of sunglasses in subscription boxes (due to the prescription glasses issue), however, these sunnies knocked my socks off! The quality of these was superb—the metal frames were sturdy without being too heavy and they don't rattle one bit. I love the geometric edges and the reflective shine of the lenses, and most importantly I thought they looked really great on!  Sometimes I see a value of an item in a subscription box but can't feel that value in the quality of the item, but I can definitely see paying $60 (or even a bit more) for these sunglasses easily.

The Verdict: I thought this was another fantastic box from Bless Box! It is perfect for the June box because everything can be put to use when you travel, and many people take vacations during the summer. The face wash and hair set are all TSA-compliant, the eyeshadow, lashes, and eyeliner can work for all you need for your eye makeup, and what is a vacation without a pair of sunglasses? When I first opened the box I was disappointed in how light it looked, items-wise, but now that I have really explored the box I can say I am more than satisfied with it. I calculated a value of $139.24, which is right in line with the value I have come to expect from this box. I think Bless Box continues to grow and become a better box, and this is really starting to become a box I eagerly await every month.

I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Am really enjoying this box!
Even the shadow! I actually like that it can go from sheer to opaque. It is very dewy on and great for feeling pretty during the day or night. A lot of fun to play around with.
Even the peach color goes on beautifully (wasn’t expecting that!)

Seeing the spoiler pics, I wasn’t sure about this month (it felt a little sparse), however in person it really feels lux especially because of the travel set and sunglasses. Looking forward to trying the liner.
It’s a shame, because in your mind, you see the set as 1 item, but that is all really decent sized product that will last a while and seems like it will be great for summer – and is wonderful quality.

Very very happy with this month.

i got the cool round sunglasses. So much fun. I like the elf eye shadows a lot. Very sleek design. The cleanser smells yummy! The travel set is a lot larger then i thought it would be. I like it a lot. The only thing i did not like are the eye lashes.

Hi – just FYI – I tried to subscribe using the 40% code and got an error. It will actually subtract the amount off, but then once I entered my cc info and hit “subscribe” I got an error stating the code is no longer valid. I have emailed their customer service. Just wanted to give any interested subscriber a “heads up”.

Customer service replied twice. First time they said the code should work and will take off 50%, not 40%. I tried again and it still didn’t work so I sent them a screenshot of the error. They replied again and said BEBLESSED coupon code was sent in a card in the December 2017 Box and has since expired. They said I could take 25% off with the code GETJULY. Just sharing in case anyone is interested in using the code.

Random thoughts…I mean box. Sunnies in Box of style, FFF, GMA Box, GQ Best Stuff…and lastly bless Box is on the bandwagon before summer is out.

This box is expected..I’ve noticed ”Sazam” attempting to follow in footsteps of other “you name it”, models, celebs, successful boxes…yet there is no originality, theme or style to her box and image…

This month’s hair care was the closest “forward” idea/product in the product mix…and even so she made it more about her than the brand she’s promoting.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Slut Box… at least Amber rose has evolved to using platforms to promote her celebrity….this bless Box gets nauseating how the owner expects her endorsement to overcome the lack of creativity and value inside the box. Sorry to be so negative…but I can’t wait for my sub to be over …between reading about “Sazams picks” and the plethora of intamodel pictures of her, I find myself weeding through randomly hose. Items from overstock, bargain shelves.

Still not cool…

Funny, I LOVED that the hair care addition was from her personal stylist. In the past some boxes were drugstore heavy, and even though they were brands with which she has partnerships, based on her videos, I see more high end options used in her tutorials.
Her promise is that this is all product that she personally would use – so I didn’t mind the shout out to her personal stylist as he was launching his brand.

As for the sunnies, I think you just can’t win if you do or don’t include them. Personally, I loved mine and felt the same as the review here. They feel nice and look great.
Thankfully they didn’t include another sun screen!

Not everyone subscribes to multiple boxes and probably is glad to have them. I’m sure some people don’t mind having more than one pair to choose from. They can’t just not include them because other boxes are AND many of these partnerships were likely formed a few months ago (especially since it takes time for those companies to get budget approval to send out large quantities of product for PR purposes).

I can relate that I wish they would develop the box as much or more than the magazine, however, that is what she has in her control. Getting product placements/partnerships is probably tricky and even established boxes like Fab Fit Fun has not stellar options (and they have the momentum and only have to do it four times a year.
But I have to say it seems more and more that her theme is care giving. I say that after having gotten a few boxes at the beginning of the year that I wasn’t thrilled about, but in using the product in the months following, it was really good quality product and I really felt cared for. And I think that is a theme that reflects who she is. As far as the mag, she has a very large following that is not accomplished by many and I wouldn’t dismiss what she has done in developing her brand/image. If you follow her, she is a beauty/fashion blogger/you tuber and that is what you would expect to see in her mini mag.

You know, I had some complaints (as well as others) at the start of the year and I see the box now reflects changes, as a result. They do listen and I’m sure would appreciate hearing some constructive thoughts from your perspective.
