Candy Club July 2018 Review
Since it's getting hot out there now, Candy Club has added insulating material to prevent your candies from melting in transit.
You'll get info cards that describe the candy as well as list the nutritional info on the back.
Assorted Jaw Busters, 2 ounces
These are the loose candy of the month that comes scattered in the box. Jaw Busters are basically the same as Jaw Breakers, just a different brand name. These are an excellent little sugar kick to keep in your bag or for the 4pm slump at work.
Dorval Sour Power Pink Lemonade Straws, 9.6 ounces
The sour pink lemonade straws are probably my favorite this month. Not only are they brightly colored and a fun shape to eat, but they are SUPER sour. I can only eat about one or two at a time and am wincing while doing so, but the pink lemonade flavor is worth every pucker. Great candy for summer!
Arway Milk Chocolate Covered Peanuts, 9.7 ounces
These chocolate covered peanuts are quite tasty and really rich in both flavors. It almost tastes like there is peanut butter in there as well but it is simply just the peanut and a rather thick later of creamy milk chocolate. These are pretty addictive so I need to take it easy with these and not have them too close.
Atkinson's Assorted Sours, 7.1 ounces
I'm no stranger to the gummy sour ropes and belts from Candy Club, but I thought I'd try these sour hard candies that come individually wrapped. There's grape, lemon, apple, and cherry included in this mix. I decided to try grape first and it really didn't taste very sour to me at all. The flavor is okay but nothing to really write home about. I tried the cherry next and it seemed to be the same story. Meh.
Verdict: Candy Club says that they send *up to* 3 lbs of candy in each $29.99 (+8.99 shipping) package, but the kicker is that they don't really send you the candy selection by weight, they send three choices by volume. This month I received 28.4 ounces (or 1.78 pounds) of candy which makes this box of candy cost around $21.90 per pound. That is a hefty price tag since it's much cheaper in a bulk candy store, but for people who may not have access or time to run out to buy it, this is an option. The hard sour candies were a strikeout for me this month but I was pretty pleased with the sour straws and chocolate covered peanuts.
