Clean Routine Beauty Box July 2018 Review
Here's the info card for the box. I like that they include a short description of each item, plus the price of the full-size product.
Mantra Mask Restore and Hydrate Collagen Mask, 24 g. - Retail Value $10.00
This is one of the pricier sheet masks I've tried, but the ingredients justify the price. This mask includes a natural, vegan combination of hyaluronic acid, collagen amino acids, and a slew of other plant-derived nutrients that provide moisture, tightness, and lift to the skin. I found it suuuuper relaxing. It left my skin feeling a little more lively after just one use, too.
No Tox Life Shampoo Bar with Tea Tree and Mint, 1.75 oz. - Retail Value $9.00
I've almost completely switched over to shampoo bars. (Unless I run out of one—the closest place to nab one is a good drive away!) I find them just as good at cleansing my hair as a typical bottled shampoo, plus there's no plastic waste to deal with. This detergent-free bar smells fresh and uplifting and cleans hair without stripping it of its natural oils. To give it even more oomph, the instructions inside the wrapper suggest dipping the bar in baking soda before lathering up.
No Tox Life Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse, 2 oz. - Listed Value $5.00
I couldn't find this item on the No Tox Life online store, but the listed value on the card is $5.00. This "formula" is literally just apple cider vinegar, which you can use to rinse your hair in pH balancing nourishment. Be sure to dilute the rinse before you use it! A little goes a long way! You don't want to stress your hair (or smell like salad dressing all day).
Honest Hazel Under Eye Gels - Listed Value $4.00, Buy 3 for $12.00 here
I love these kinds of silicone pads! I'm not awesome at getting as much beauty rest as my under-eye area might like, so these rejuvenating gels are nice for perking up that delicate skin. This set includes cactus collagen, aloe vera, vitamin C, and vitamin E. They're soothing and moisturizing, and I imagine over time might help keep my under-eye area looking happy and bright. (Now that I've used these, I might actually pick up a three pack online!)
Olio Bug Zero 100% Natural Bug Repellant, 2.8 fl. oz. - Retail Value $12.00
I've been hoarding all of the natural bug spray I can in prep for a big hiking trip I'm taking at the end of August. I can't say for sure whether this natural deet-free formula will suffice for deep in the woods, but for bopping around the yard or the local park, it seems to work pretty well! It has the classic citronella scent that you'd expect from a bug repellant, but minus the weird chemical intensity that I tend to pick up with commercial-brand candles or sprays.
The Verdict: I'm really pleased with the high-quality items I got in this box! I know it's partially because of the branding (both for the box itself and the individual products), but everything felt fresh, modern, and really cohesive. I was introduced to a few brands I've never heard of before. And in searching for them online, I learned that these are brands that are sometimes found in the curated beauty sections of stores like Anthropologie. Fun! I could totally see purchasing these toxin-free products again in the future. Also, how cool is it that so many of the items came in full-size packages?!
To Wrap Up:
Can I still get this box if I sign up today?: Yes! According to a recent Instagram post, as of publication, you'll still get this box if you purchase ASAP. Boxes typically start getting sent out around the 15th of the month.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $29.99 (+ free shipping), but I estimate that there is $40.00 worth of retail value inside (using the retail values I could find and the listed values for products that didn't have individual values available online). That means, proportionally, you pay the following for each item via the box:
- Mask - $7.50
- Shampoo bar - $6.75
- ACV hair rinse - $3.75
- Under eye gels - $3.00
- Bug spray - $9.00
The average price per item via the box is $6.00.
