Elevita June 2018 Review

Once again, everything arrived in this lovely cotton drawstring bag! Such a nice bonus!

This is the letter I received in my package this month, detailing the contents. I especially appreciate the detail it provides about the artisans who created this month's handicrafts. It gives it such a special, personal touch!

Wooden Puzzle

Wooden Puzzle, India

This is such a beautiful puzzle! It's very smooth and has such great craftsmanship. My son and I worked on it together - it's pretty tough, too! This was hand carved by artisans in India who are part of a nonprofit organization that helps provide employment to the impoverished of the area.

Journal, India

This journal is so pretty! I love it! I love getting little journals and notebooks like this in subscription boxes, I use them all the time. This was made by a family in India that creates journals and paper goods from recycled cotton. This makes the paper super soft and extra strong. They also hand block print the design! Elevita helps them to continue their craft and earn a living wage.

The "Hold Everything Bag", India

The "Hold Everything Bag", India

This bag is huge! It's a hand block printed, quilted cotton tote bag from India. It would make an excellent, stylish diaper bag! I actually received a large makeup bag with the same print from Elevita months ago. Now I am wondering which of my friends or relatives will announce they are expecting next because this would be an amazing gift!

The Verdict: Elevita is awesome! I really appreciate everything they do to help global artisans, and I love feeling like I'm a part of that. This month's items were all great! I can't often find values for the items Elevita sends, but I always feel like the value far outstrips the cost of the box. $30 for these lovely items, including free shipping, is a steal!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the July box. Order by the 18th to get the current month's box.

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $30 with free shipping, which means that each of the 3 items in the box has an average cost of $10.

This was my first Elevita box, and I was so happy with it! Each item was of very high quality, and I loved them all. Plus, I can feel good about helping artisans in developing countries. My new favorite subscription box!

Not to be Debbie downer but THAT was/is $30!!??? I’d be livid. A puzzle you can buy at any Cracker Barrel, a notebook, and ANOTHER TOTE!???

Honestly, you can’t appreciate how beautiful everything is until you are holding them in person. The pages in the notebook are cloth! You can tell that everything was crafted with such care. I feel like I could give the bag alone as a gift and someone would think I spent more than $30 on them. So the other items are just fun bonuses, really! I am VERY happy that I started this sub.

You can’t buy that puzzle at a cracker barrel. They are hand carved and the wood is beautiful. And the tote is beautifully made out of quilted material and its large and extremely useful and pretty. I am happy every month with the products I get from Elevita. All of these products are hand made, not mass produced in China.

It’s not a bad price for fair trade items. I wouldn’t expect super high value from a box dedicated to providing a living wage for artisans. When it’s mass produced in China, then yeah, it needs a better value than $10 an item, but I think this is decent if you are looking for fair trade, handmade items.

This was my first box from them and I was thrilled. I received the exact same bag, the notebook with a different pattern and a different, egg-shaped, wooden puzzle. So fun and anything I may not use will make awesome gifts. I subbed to this because of your excellent reviews and am so happy that I did!
