Lavish Bath Box June 2018 "Mermania" Review

Here is the info sheet that includes the name of the products, the shop that they are from, and any available coupon code. I love having easy access to the shop websites and coupons for future purchases!

Bath Sorbet Mermaid Bath Bomb,

Bath Sorbet Mermaid Bath Bomb - Estimated Value $5

Guys, this is so beautiful I almost couldn’t bear to put it in the water. Aside from the gorgeous shades of blue, under the packaging is hand painted gold mermaid scales! My love of baths won out, however, and this made for a great bath. It fizzed for a long time, and when I thought it was all fizzed out an outpouring of pink came rushing through--it was delightful! I didn’t realize until after my bath was over, but the pink shell at the top of the bomb is actually a baby soap! The dominant scent of cotton candy made this a really fun bath bomb to use.

Here is the bath bomb after a few minutes (still fizzing away!). Doesn’t the gorgeous blue look like a mermaid swims in that water?

Yippee & Co Mermaid Wishes Bubbling Salts, 8 oz

Yippee & Co Mermaid Wishes Bubbling Salts, 8 oz – Retail Value $6

I wanted to love these bath salts, but they just did not like me. I tried three times, and I could not get these salts to bubble. I reached out to Lavish to see if I was using them wrong, and they automatically offered to send out a different jar! I love that customer service—considering this is a higher-priced bath box, it is very comforting to know that the company is going to make things right if you are unhappy. I think I just so happened to get a dud, which just happens sometimes and I am okay with it.

Spun Gold Naturals Mermaid Scales Bubble Bar, 4 oz – Retail Value $8

If this isn’t one of the most beautiful bubble bars you have ever seen, I simply don’t believe you! The gorgeous ombre scales combined with the gold ring makes this bubble bomb such a stunner to look at. Luckily, it smells fantastic thanks to the pineapple, and a small bit makes a great mound of bubbles too. This big bubble bar is enough for three baths, which means I can make the fun last and smell that juicy pineapple scent two more times!

Crystal Mae Creations Mini Mermaid Bath Bombs, 4 bombs

Crystal Mae Creations Mini Mermaid Bath Bombs, 4 bombs – Estimated Value $8 (buy a pack of 6 for $12)

I love these adorable mini bath bombs. You can use all three at once for a super luxurious experience, mix the mini bath bomb with a bubble bar or bath salt, or just use one on its own to have a nice bath three times! I thought the coloring of these were gorgeous as well, with the fleck of gold and different shades of blue. Most importantly, these smelled heavenly thanks to the tropical fruit and mandarin orange, and one mini bomb still turned my water a fun shade of teal!

Here is one mini bomb bubbling to action right after I plopped it in! It reminded me of a baby hurricane!

The Pretty Eclectic Blue Lagoon Soy Candle, 4 oz

The Pretty Eclectic Blue Lagoon Soy Candle, 4 oz – Estimated Value $8 (buy an 8 oz candle for $16)

I am such a lover of pretty candles and this is a pretty candle. The packaging alone with the twine and seashell has me swooning, and I love that the candle has glitter, dried cornflowers, another shell, and a pretty stone. According to the website, the stone is Fluorite and is believed to balance energy and encourage positivity. It smells heavenly as well, thanks to the dominant scent of agave nectar.

Artisan Bath Co Mermaid Jelly Soap, 2 oz – Retail Value $4.49

Can we just take a moment and appreciate this jelly soap is in the plastic container you will find Jell-O shots in at a party? I appreciate it. Also, this is a gorgeous blue soap that has an awesome jelly texture. I think I spent more time in the shower playing with the fun texture than I did actually bathing, but it’s cool because this has glitter and smells amazing thanks to the cyclamen (one of my all-time favorite scents, I am learning). The only time I have seen soap like this before is from Lush, and I am happy to find artisan creators of this fun jelly!

The Verdict: Gosh, the curation from Lavish Bath Box just continues to be superb. Every month I am excited for what gorgeous and fun bath products will arrive at my door. As I continue to receive boxes from Lavish, I really appreciate the artisan products from small brands that are chosen to be included. Because of that, however, the value of this box will never be much higher than the cost of the box itself. This month I calculated a value of $39.49, which is more than the $38.95 cost of the box but not higher than the cost of the box plus shipping, which is $6.99. I do think the curation is worth that few extra dollars, so if that is something you can appreciate I cannot recommend this box enough.

The Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you still sign up today? You will receive the July box!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $45.94 ($38.95 + 6.99 shipping) which means you are paying $7.66 per item.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

This box is amazing! I have made many handmade bath products and the time and love that goes into these products is huge. The prices for these fancy bath bombs, bubble bars, etc is low. My grocery store wants $7 for a plain round bath bomb. If I had the extra money, I would get this box. Even if the cost is the same as the box, they are paying the shipping cost you pay, so if you come out even, I think it is a good deal!

I’m confused the mini bath bombs picture is of 4 but then it says “You can use all three at once”

I really like the mermaid theme, bet this was a fun box to review.

Hi Anna!
Typo on my part. That should say “you can use all four at once.”

Fortune Cookie Soap also sells an amazing Jelly Soap! I’m received it once a few months ago in my subscription box and I highly recommend it as I do all the FCS products!

Just curious– in addition to this box you have done reviews for Sugar Sugar and Shea Bakery Bath Boxes– which is your favorite of these three?

Jessica Hapak

Hi Nancy!
That’s a toughie, as I feel like each box is different in what I’m looking for. Shea Shea bakery is the lowest price out of the three but they are not a bath specific box. Ahh sugar sugar is mostly body products where Lavish is mostly bath product. I love the exclusivity and creativity that comes with ahh sugar sugar, but I love taking baths so lavish is really a perfect box for me in that regards. Ahh sugar sugar does make excellent bath bombs, but we are most likely only going to get one bath specific item in the box compared to lavish.

That being said please don’t make me choose! I hope this helps.
